A Halo “Team Slayer” playlist with AR/Pistol starts, and a “Halo Championship Series” playlist with BR starts and/or no radar.
Or make one playlist and have it BR/AR starts and everyone is happy since you can choose right off spawn which one you want

No thanks. It would still be a 2v1 kill steal fest.
which is exactly what happens when one member of a team picks up a BR off the map anyway…
They need to make 4 playlist branches. Casual, Competitive, Halo championship series, and Experimental (Action sack anyone?) And allow map choice from a.small, randomly generated selection with only one refresh.
Firstly, in casual, plain old Team slayer, NO competitive ranking, just your k/d spread and Spartan rank here. Choice of BR or AR start
In competitive, It’ll have the competitive ranking and ignore Spartan rank during matchmaking. K/D/A spread kicks in. Map choice decides weapon start.
In the championship series, You’ll have a separate rank from competitive. Consider competitive to be training for people who play in the championship playlist, and casual to be training for competitive playlist at this point. In the championship series, it should be the same as competitive without radar.
For Experimental, it matches you by Spartan rank like casual, except it’s home for the silly slayer types like Team shotty snipers or team rocket slayer, maybe even classic slayer without abilities. The game types and maps are randomized, so you just vote which map/mode combo that lures you in.
Use this system for all game types like Ctf, oddball, ect and adjust them slightly for each playlist branch. Fit specific game types in certain branches, I.e juggernaut being an action sack exclusive, breakout a competitive/halo championship series exclusive, etc
