343 getting money crazy

Back in Halo 4, when 343 released the Weapon pack, it was only about $4…so why are they releasing req packs that have less skins (3) for $10 apiece, and your not even guaranteed the skins you want…
Edit: Whoever is setting the prices is crazy if they think they need more money from a game that already brings in a lot

you do realize its up to Phil Spencer as he is head of the Xbox division. And the packs are beneficial if you have every req item unlocked.

To those who don’t have every req item unlocked the packs are worthless, not everyone has time to play halo enough to have everything unlocked and then save up 80,000 req points for that pack, at which point those people opt to spend some cash only to get ripped of when they would’ve gotten more than double the skins for less than half the price…it doesn’t make any sense

I know right theres a $100 gold pack bundle ffs

But… muh free DLC…

Anything with micro transactions is a con. Most micro transaction sales are kids buying things on their parents credit cards, that’s not an audience 343 should be catering to. It should be illegal.

If you are done with silvers that pack will finish your golds

I a lot of the older gamers have more spare cash and spare time this allows to not feel like they are behind in the REQ game and still enjoy the game

stop only thinking negative and about the spoiled kids or lazy kids that have the time but spend the cash. EVEN THOUGH unless they using your credit card isn why you care lol.

REQ packs are a choice and those who say yes to that choice are putting money into the franchise we are playing

Im done with my silvers, but Im not gonna pay for a bundle more expensive than the game lol

I’m not going to lie, I’ve invested into all the packs they’ve sold. For me though, I’m at a different place I was 10 years ago. I guess I can afford the money and I have a lot less time to grind before wife kids and work.

That’s not what I’m saying…of course Reqs are a choice, but in Halo 4 you could buy the weapon skins for $4 and get A LOT of skins vs in Halo 5 where that pack was 80,000RP or $10, for only 2 skins if not everything was unlocked…nor do many players have time to unlock everything…I can only play on weekends and even then I’m busy and have little time to play, and I’m sure many players are in the same situation…I’m saying less skins for more money makes no sense

You’re missing out on how the reqs are funding stuff in game. I don’t think 4$ is enough to fund much when only a portion would buy it to begin with, so upping the cost helps support the updates and free dlc the game gets.

that’s why they won’t unlock offline options for forge, warzone, or custom games. No money to be made. Greed is destroying the halo universe.

Bill gates is just a Mascot now. the board runs everything while he jets across the world living life. Way to go Bill. Wish I was you.

What doesn’t make sense is acting like there’s a gun to your head forcing you to pay money for something you don’t want to. YOU are responsible for your spending habits. This purchase is completely optional.

So I shouldn’t be able to buy a microtransaction because some parents don’t monitor their children’s in-game spending? That’s overreach.

We have to pay because it helps them make & develop the free updates that we get every month & some of that money goes towards them funding a Halo 3 Anniversary or Halo 6 because they need the money to make either of those titles happen & the money to make our free dlc content or else we won’t get anything.

There’s barely any content in this game as is. The game is funded by your original purchase. Future patches should be free, selling a broken product knowingly is illegal. Real dlc packs would be fine to purchase if they were actual extras, but so far Halo 5 hasn’t seen any content which is worthy of that.

Keep feeding them, they’ll keep coming back… this is only making gaming more expensive in the long run.

What’s broke? The game functions perfectly. Lack of content doesn’t mean it’s broke. Also, the initial purchase is the license to play it, 343 never once advertised that the $60 we spend to play the game will also find updates/dlc/expansions.

Gaming has has been getting expensive ever since it started, advancement in technology does that you know? It’s awesome that games are still $60 like they were a decade ago.

How was Halo 5 broken at launch? Legitimate question, because I am looking forward to you comparing it to Assassin’s Creed level of brokenness. And everyone is acting as if 343i tricked them into buying the game by advertising more content than was shipped… sorry, but they announced every multiplayer game mode before the release date. If you bought it without researching it, that’s your fault, not 343’s.
