I’m sick and tired of this thing randomly destroying a batch of units which I just made. It is the most annoying game mechanic I have EVER had to deal with. It doesn’t even make the game more challenging, just extends the duration of how long it takes you to actually complete each mission!
I’ll admit it can be frustrating seeing your newly build army decimated while your sorting out base stuff, but it can be countered.
I’ve learned to make use of small scout forces that help alleviate the problem. As well as giving you eyes on they will force the Ai to use the leader powers. Once they have baited the powers move your main army in. One thing to remember when attacking stationary targets is to stay mobile as much as you can. If you are moving when they try to beam you they won’t do much damage as you move faster than the beam
Actually, I’ve literally just started spreading out my units. Only way it doesn’t seem to happen : P
Your best bet to help alleviate this is nightengales. They are SUPER clutch in the campaign on Legendary.
