Hey 343. I wanna start off by saying you had 6 years to release a smooth multiplayer experience. Instead we get 5 crap maps to play on repeat for most likely the life span of the game because in Halo 5 the only maps added into competitive arena play were forge maps made by a fan not the actually developers. With that said it’s quite annoying that i’ve been banned on multiple different days because your game client crashes so often. WTF is this garbage. Get something in the software that can detect when a player crashes and either reconnect them or have them receive no penalty. I have limited time to play and your wonky game client is ruining the experience of many many players. And also while we are here. Make it so console players can que up with just consoles. Stop ruining your game further.
Have you tried locking your FPS instead of having it unlocked.
Its locked at minimal 120fps to capped at 240fps. I can set my monitor to max at 144fps and set the game to around that as well in the in game options menu. But i just want a 6 year developed game by a AAA studio that is backed by the richest publisher in the world to have a smooth experience… Not this crap. It’s absurd they launched the game with only 5 competitive maps and we most likely wont see any added in the near future. it’s going to be years before we get a new map just like in halo 5 and it most likely will be a forged remake of a prior map that we’ve played 10,000 times already.
You can thank people who abused loop holes as to why this will never ever happen.
Plenty of people are also losing what little time they have getting stuck with unreliable teammates who abandon them for a multitude of reasons too. I’m sure they want it so they don’t have to be stuck with said people in future matches if they can’t commit to a game.
Being able to rejoin a match would be nice, but you’d have to be able to get back in quickly because matches don’t usually last all that long unless both teams are good at contesting…
Hopefully they’ll be able to quickly address most of the crashes now that they’re back. But being able to address issues to PC’s that all have different types of builds will probably take them time to accomplish.
It’s not like the consoles before hand, which all had very simular builds, so finding one solution fixed it for most, if not all of the console players.
From my understanding the current crashing issues are caused by issues with Windows. Mainly Windows 10. So far no update from the Windows teams has been released but it seems that if you reinstall Windows or update to Windows 11 then crashing almost never happens. I personally have only crashed three times since launch. But I’m on Windows 11.
For Nvidia GPU’s a fix was launched with 497.29. AMD on the other hand has yet to release a patch for their GPU’s.
I have tried nearly everything at this point and I can’t get it to stop crashing. A user on reddit seems to have identified it as a memory leak issue. Peak on a Saturday and there are 39,372 players on Steam… it would not surprise me at all if it were the case that very few are playing the game because of technical issues at this point.
I don’t know what to say except this is another massive blow to consumer confidence. There’s a strong case to be made for testing the game before buying it at this point, simply because major studios can’t be trusted to release a working product.
I’m crashing 3-4 times per day on a 5950x and 3090, I’ve reinstalled Windows 11, updated latest Nvidia drivers, uninstalled HD texture pack, everything, can’t stop the crashing.
Well you just had to one up me huh. I’m on a 5900x and a 3080TI. Guess i’ll have to throw this PC in the trash and build another. HA. But yeah, that’s what i’m saying. Halo Infinite is the only game I have on this PC. So it’s not my system malfunctioning. It happened again last night. I was banned and it dropped me out of Onyx.
Windows 11
Oof lad
I wish this was the case for me. Game is literally unplayable. Running on an i7-10700k and AMD 6900 XT. About 3 minutes after launch the game crashes 100% of the time. In menu, in game, doesn’t matter. Didn’t start happening until after the new year for me.
Tried everything shy of reimaging my computer, which I’m not going to do for one game. It’s a real shame, especially when support is saying “We will let you know when an update comes out that might fix your issue”.
i have a feeling the game has issues with AMD products. at least more issues than intel/nvidea. i have 1700x and 1070, and the game is pretty much unplayable. wish they would optimize their game better for PC.
