343 ffs just do it already

Bro. MS dropped 67 BILLION DOLLARS on the Actiblizz acquisition and you think this studio needs MONEY?!?! They’re a MS studio created specifically for Halo. What a cop out excuse.

That’s what they should have done in the first place. Regular gamers don’t play halo like we do. And the FTP model has done literally nothing. Certainly none of us asked for this title to be FTP prior to the announcement of such.

Halo isn’t popular, nor will it ever be again. There’s no getting around time and preference. It’s old and it’s only us old yoinks who are sitting here playing it twenty years later. No cap!

They should have stopped after reach, but Microsoft wasn’t gonna do that, obviously! But if you were going to keep making these games, they needed to be simple games made for dedicated fans.

100% agree yet again they should’ve made it a simple game with love just like classic Halo. A fulfilling good story and experience and my $60 campaign should come with Forge and Split Screen like previous Halo’s (Not 5, see a trend here?). It’s really sad that we are at this point, and what’s even worse is people are defending it and them still! This is without mentions the MANY issues with Infinite right now as well…

Which is either part of a maintenance budget for services.
Or an investment on new bigger content which isn’t part of prolonged services.

Both of which are provided by the publisher and then regained through revenue of the service they’re investing in.

The action of disabling paying for content for, half a year, is miniscule compared to whatever the next 9.5 years can return.
It’d show good faith for the community overall that they’re refusing themselves to charge for items untill they’ve delivered what’s expected. Co-Op, Forge, fixing the many gameplay issues with the game such as desynch, pc performance, crashes and so forth, and functioning properly too.

If the game is so strung up on 6 - 9 months, on a ten year plan, that no one can imagine the game surviving even if MS is onboard with monetary support, then the game is certainly not in a good place at the moment, and shows a poor quality product rushed out to grab as much money as possible.

Look, they can defend it all they want. Reality is this game will be dead or reduced to MCC status by the end of this year. Forge will not help. Firefight will not help. The only thing that would “Help” would be battle royale which is divisive at best in this community. Which still runs the risk of failing if it isn’t a good battle royale. Which judging by 343’s design choices, I think we could make a safe assumption that it wouldn’t be.

Halo is dead. It did what it needed to do and it was legendary. When chief said “Wake me when you need me” he didn’t mean wake me up in couple years to drive the money train. He was the pivotal warrior. He was talking to us who embodied him for so many years. The player. Chief is in us all and what he’s saying in that moment is in times of desperation and need YOU, ME, EVERYONE who played these games can harness that bravery because chief is us. And that’s the point. But that’s been lost along the way and all that’s left is a crummy developer and fans in complete and utter denial, scrapping for crumbs.

I disagree with you on that because forge and custom game options would help tremendously since this is what the community has ran off of since Halo 3. The game should’ve released with Forge and Halo 5’s extensive custom game options everyone praises so much. Alongside it should’ve been a custom game browser or what I expect is a full dedicated server list like the old school. Halo isn’t dead it has just been lost for a long time now it seems… arena shooters still have hope, plus there’s still at easily a million across the board who play them. We just need some quality and a solid new experience. 343 just isn’t up to the job and neither is their sub contractor Certain Affinity or whoever they have helping with MP.

I’m not saying people won’t come back or like it. But realistically this isn’t going to reinvigorate the Halo franchise. Most people don’t care. Bar none.

True that with what we have which is why forge (a full on dev kit) and custom games options plus a server browser would help tremendously. Yeah don’t get me wrong… BTB, Desync, Melee glitching, etc… needs to be fixed as well or it’s further doomed. I get where you’re aiming at… I think you might be right that at this point it’s going to take way too long to make it even decent and by then it probably won’t matter and the future is grim.
