Is it just me or does halo 4 seem skimp on maps? This game seems really solid so far, but we need more maps. 5 maps for most playlists is just too low for a top tier FPS like halo. I think you should add some good forge maps to the playlists at the very least, If not a free map pack. New playlists are great, but not a fix for the lack of maps.
Also… oddball is going to be unplayable if you dont fix the -Yoink!- wall glitch… should have been done a lot sooner TBH.
If you agree favorite the thread so 343i can see it.
Its skimp on everything… go play black ops 2 and see how much stuff they have. And 343 wanted halo 4 to be like cod… they are far from it.
They need to do what bungie did with the forge world maps in matchmaking in Reach. That would be much better.
The map set for Team Slayer/Slayer Pro is very repetitive.
I would love if they added some decent forge maps.
The lack of maps has put a damper on this game for me, don’t get me wrong, I’m still playing it like crazy, but when 4v4 is only 5 maps and you usually only end up playing on 2 of the 5, it’s kind of repetitive, and BTB doesn’t incorporate the built in forge maps. I love this game, but I’m sick of playing the same maps over and over again. Does anybody know what playlists have Settler, Relay, or Ascent in them? I’ve yet to play them but they seem like fun.
Agreed, it seems like 343 is focused on playlists, but maps are the biggest issue ATM, the core gameplay is great but its growing old fast on the same couple maps over and over. The halo community has proven how awesome it can be with forge, seems like a logical solution to put some forge maps in to matchmaking playlists. Costs 343 almost nothing, the community benefits. Win-win scenario.
Patience is a virtue my friends. We’ll be getting 9 more maps within just a few months. The first 3 come out next month.
In the meantime, they should really add Relay to Infinity Slayer and Slayer Pro. The map is great for 4v4.
I’m just glad that the maps are at least original and not simply ripped from the Campaign like they were in Reach.
Thanks for the input. I realize they will release map packs but should you really have to pay for a DLC when you only get 5 maps per playlist? Its just bad business IMO.
true needs more maps but not payable dlc
There are more maps then Reach had on day 1, and with 6 map packs on the way I do not feel cheated at all. I just hope to see some map remakes in the future. We deserve more than just Ragnarok.

Yeah, 9 more maps you need to pay $25 dollars for, half the price of the game, and only a few of those maps will be used within in each variant. So you will most likely go from 5 maps in the rotation to 6 maps. It would suck for the people who don’t get a new map for the variant because the first 3 maps aren’t supported in the game type. I don’t know if your being serious about BO2 or not, as I haven’t exactly heared anyone rave about it. I seen a lot of people on my friends list play it on release night, and since then they have been back in Halo 2 or MW3. They only mention the 10 points thing, which Section 8 and Section 8:Prejudice, and Global Agenda had. I’m just glad I get 9 maps for 25, vice 4 for 15.

Facts: Get the straight. While multi-player maps did make an appearance in campaign (in Halo: Reach), each multi-player map was built from the ground up with multi-player in mind. The only thing heavily influenced by campaign were aesthetics. Even then, some maps aestehtics influenced campaign.
Halo 3 had a low number of maps from the beginning. Reach had a plethora, but suffered from grey-blah-syndrome. Reach also implemented DLC horribly. Something I hope is remidied in Halo 4 by making most playlists DLD-restricted, meaning only playable with DLC.
343 has said many times they will be adding community created maps as soon as they can apply them to their server/matchmaking.
343 said they worked on Halo 4 for years and they barely even made any maps. 5 maps in a playlist is just not enough (Big Team and Infinity Slayer -I don’t know the other playlists-). I know they’re putting out map packs starting in December but so few on opening day is just embarrassing.

^^ This. I could not believe Bungie even contemplated that. What a lazy move. Sword Base was the only HALF decent map. Atleast these are all original. And even though they are few, theres not many I don’t like.

Well that’s just being downright pessimistic. Several of those maps will be suitable for smaller Slayer or objective gametypes and several will be suitable for larger scale gametypes. Expect the rotation to grow sufficiently. Also, I’d willingly pay $25 for nine more maps. It’s not gonna break my bank.
They’ve got three unique forge worlds. They should implement a map from each forge world into each playlist.
I dont mind buying DLC but only getting 5 maps for 4v4-the bread and butter of halo. Seriously?
