The fans of Halo were a little bewildered by Halo 4, with all the new content and some of the classic gone… it had made a scar in the populace.

One of the classic features was the mystery about the Forerunners; a huge chunk of story and origins was told in Greg Bears trilogy, and then refined in Halo 4… which I don’t have a problem with, I welcome it but…

I am just saying the Promethean in Halo 4… didn’t feel like the Forerunners we grew up with… in other words, the Sentinels.

I know they are two different types one is solely an AI, while the other is a composed biological sentient in a durance… anyway, my topic is about the Forerunner weaponry. It should be revamped! At least to show the highly technological and advanced feel… we got from the first trilogy…

Smart-building weaponry was a nice touch, hard light and photon projectiles as well was cool… but what about gravity… or slip-space or beam based like the sentinel beam… here is my new idea for a VERY UNIQUE weapon that would be very difficult to reskin.

No offense, it is indeed very unique, but no.

Seems that anything along these lines would only add more complexity to multiplayer. It wouldn’t feel “Halo” to me either.

I actually agree with OP.

Though Sentinels would’ve conflicted with the Watcher in terms of usage, the Sentinel could’ve easily bridged the gap between what we knew of Forerunners before, and the new stuff in Halo 4.

Plus, due to the hitscan nature of Sentinel Beams, it would’ve made the skies a hell of a lot more dangerous than with just Watchers.

I’d even be happy to see Sentinel Majors as well. Currently, I feel just a little too invincible to prometheans while I’m in a vehicle, even on Legendary.
