So I just saw this video:
https://youtu.be/T0sydRujLXY
If true, this could result in major issues for Infinite. The development sounds like it’s a mess. Everything is slapped together haphazardly. Work environments are poor. Management is out of touch. Leadership is pandering to the demands of Microsoft instead of fighting for what’s best for the product and team. Many team members are elitest and cutthroat. Contractors are overused and often cut corners. The vision for Infinite is all over the place. The tools are outdated. Oh, and the bathroom situation sucks.
I’m probably missing some but if this is to be believed, I’m worried…

Well this’ll get locked quick from either a 343 employee or mad.

I was worried about this video at first as well, but I wouldn’t give it much credence. Many of those reviews are from last year by employees who stayed at 343 for a year or less. Hiring contractors isn’t unique to 343 (from what I’ve heard) and the terrible code could be referring to the MCC code, which 343 has admitted was a mess. It’s very likely that these negative reviews are coming from disgruntled employees with a bone to pick. 343 employees also seem to be very friendly and passionate about Halo and consistently engage with fans. I wouldn’t worry about this too much. Of course it could all be true, but that you tuber has used “insiders” in the past that gave completely inaccurate information.
Yeah, there’s a thread about this already.

I’m just gonna copy and paste what i wrote in that thread here
Just putting it out there also, not saying there are no legit reviews, but anyone can make an account (or make multiple accounts) and pretend they work at a company to leave reviews.

You’re right about RTUSA. He’s usually not my go to source for information, but this video got my attention. Obviously this can’t be absolutely proven 100% true ofc. And you’re right, the video even mentions that it could just be disgruntled former employees, but it’s still 3 different posts saying mostly the same thing. Even if it proves to be untrue, AAA game development is imploding atm. It’s becoming unsustainable for many studios. People deserve to hear these kinds of stories. Even if, like I said, the ones about 343 aren’t accurate.

Do those posts sound like they were written by a laymen? Cause I personally couldn’t write a review about my experience with game development, and make it sound believable. My gut also kind of tells me it’s not the same person writing this multiple times. For one, they’re worded and structured differently. And two, who would honestly do that? Especially if they had this level of intellect, these posts clearly didn’t come from some internet troll.
My bad about the thread. I didn’t search all that hard cause I thought the info was still new.
Can anyone say that the Infinite reveal didn’t look like it’s been through a troubled development? At least two high level people left mid development.
The “demo” looked pre-alpha. After 5 years. Janky animations, stiff foliage, low resolution textures, flat lighting… It really does look like it was cobbled together in 6 months.
It’s all good because it’s on Gamepass. Right?
