It’s not a skilled-based ranking system that you’re looking for, it’s tighter TS restrictions in the playlists you frequent.
CoD is just now implementing what Halo has used since H2 and different playlists will have different restriction settings, just like Halo.
> You have, what?, spoken to MLG? That’s about it, invisible ranks and no spectator mode.
Spectator mode is extremely limited and not part of matchmaking.
From all that I’ve read, you’re better off using your PC to stream the games to cut down on the bandwidth used inside the Xbox to play the game.
However I would like a specatator mode for those that would like to stream a 4x4 LAN game.

I think it’s false bravado on their part. In the end the problem with CoD wasn’t the lack of skill ranks or a spectator mode, it’s the gameplay. It’s crap, terrible gun balancing, gameplay breaking perks, killstreaks that can run a rape train on the other team without you doing anything, God awful hit detection, ect. I’ve seen the MP trailer for BOps2 and its evident it’ll be no different, I spoted things I know will be annoying. No CoD is adding those things to try to attract competitives because it’s gameplay doesn’t, Halo’s does.

It allows you to view a game in progress as a flying camera. You can watch your teamates and explore the map.
Why do you want it so badly? So you can avoid combat and explore the map, something easily done in theater or forge?
Focus on gameplay. You can already spectate your teamates while waiting to respawn.
Understandable they may have not completely failed us. However guys I am not sure if you know this, It is 2012, and FPS without spectator mode is really bad. IMO halo needed spectator mode. This is coming from someone who loves mlg and not mm tho. You guys look at it and are like “its ok 343, we still love you” I look at 343 and am like I am sure the game will be fun for the first couple weeks because all the new stuff in halo, however it will get only and ppl will then start complaining. So keep prasising 343 guys but once the game comes out and you had ppl who weapon drop and get powerups, or hate playing good ppl who get powerups non stop dont bring your problems here to cry about. Just keep saying " I love 343, they are the best"
And to all you guys talking about connection, Halo lags just the same as COD. Blood shots and ppl eating shots. So take that Halo is better connection somewhere else

Hahahaha you must play on a tiny CRT Tv or something. I like crisp 720 personally.
Who would want to livestream a game that is boring to watch and doesn’t have a skill gap? I wouldn’t. How pointless for Treyarch to add these features all of 200 maybe people will ever use once or twice and won’t help the game in the slightest.
Anyway, Halo 4 will likely have the ability to transfer saved films to video using the File Share just like Bungie Pro did for previous Halo games. And I’d MUCH rather be playing Halo than watching Halo anyway. If I want to watch tournament grade players, I’ll watch a tournament.
I noticed no one is claiming that CoD is copying H4’s points steaks, I mean ordanance drop mechanics.
So far the difference being mostly that death resets your CoD streaks.
(I actually foresee CoD’s new point streak system backfiring on them. Most of their players won’t be able to keep the point streaks going, playing against players of equal skill won’t keep point streaks going, and so their point streak system is going to create huge gameplay gaps. Random drops ain’t got nothing on what point streaks that reset with death will do.)
Men and women (Halo players), it is over. The darkness has taken our only chance we currently have in this world. The valiant soldiers (343i) have fallen. Now the world (Halo) will end in shadow and flame, because there is no one to look after us, (spectator mode) and because there is no way to escape to the outer worlds (livestreaming).
The servants of darkness (trolls) will rule these lands (forums).
Yet there is still hope. First light on the fifth day, (release date) at dawn, the soldiers of light (positive people who played the game) will ride (post) for freedom. Maybe then will they eliminate the servants of darkness and save these lands.

Yes, of course.
A game that doesn’t have a connection eating spectator mode, thats purpose is easily duplicated in theater or Forge, means the game will fail.
You can already spectate teamates, watch games in theater, and explore the map in Forge. The only thing spectator mode will add is the ability for players to stay out of combat for a while, while their team keeps fighting on the ground.

Like CoD, yes. As much as CoD, no. R6 and GR are much better netcoded than CoD, about on par with Halo.

Who here remembers Halo 2 clan system? OR Watching theater mode 1st person? OR the hits scoreboard from halo 2? Other things I wish they would bring back.
Also to everyone talking about connection, just cause it sounds as if you are using more bandwidth does not mean you are using 2billion times the amount as you would normally. How many of you guys are network programmers? OR have any experience in the field of networking? 343 said spectator mode uses a lot of bandwidth. If other games do it then I think 343 is just avoiding putting it in.
