343 Dropped the ball

You could learn a thing or two from them, 343.

A fully fledged spectator mode, a skill-based ranking system, in-built livestreaming. They’re all too willing to support the hardcore and competitive community with actual, feasible improvements to their game.

You have, what?, spoken to MLG? That’s about it, invisible ranks and no spectator mode.

Honestly step up your game, Black Ops 2 is proving able to support all the different sub-communities it holds, yet Halo 4 is not.

Do not tell me to ‘wait until the game comes out’, keeping us in the dark is another reason to think 343 aren’t caring for us with Halo 4.

Than*

Anyway, Black Ops 2 does look pretty good so far, but I’ve been shown so little of Halo 4 that the thought of seeing more gameplay makes my mouth water. I’ve seen enough of Black Ops 2 to decide that I may just rent the game. It looks like the same stale gameplay CoD has had for a while.

I’m so excited for Black Ops 2!

LOL

Don’t tell me about graphic because Halo beats BO 2 in that category.

I’m glad you like to congratulate Treyarch…but am afraid you’re on the wrong forums…

This is the first time in all of my gaming experience I can flat out see CoD beating halo easily. No rank system just kills halo for me and I love halo and hate CoD.

Because every player is an MLG player, right?

If you don’t like how the game is turning out, how about you gasp don’t buy it?

So despite people -Yoinking!- about Halo 4 taking things from COD, now people want 343 to add things from COD to Halo 4? wtf

Keeping us in the dark?

Do you know what marketing is? We still have a few months left until release… they can’t show us everything right now, it’ll kill the hype.

Yay! You get to avoid combat and fly around a map, just like Theater! I don’t really care for spectator mode. If you want to see the map, you have Forge and theater. Focus on killing.

Halo 4 has a skill-based ranking system…

Now the internet will be filled with Yoink! from CoD kids, and it’ll be laggier than ever.

You can’t blame 343i for not being able to support all the sub communities when those sub communities aren’t willing to cooperate.

Invisible ranks, aren’t completely invisible. Hidden to others, it helps make boosting meaningless.

i dont like the way they are taking bo 2 it looks dumb to me and they have used the same crappy game engine for most of the games also it looks as if 343 is going to take halo in a great direction

Halo took things like loadouts and sprint etc from cod that hurts halos gameplay. Now cod actually has something worthwhile to take.

I know its a good feature, but because COD has it, halo shouldn’t . They need to stay different(I am not saying that halo 4 is even close to COD, i am just saying a lot of people think it is)

There is already an ability to spectate, by joining a team that’s not used by active players.

Lol watch em in Theater mode. MLG pr0s!!!1!11 Soo Hardcore, gotta watch ALL the gameplays.

You obviously have no idea what spectator mode is and what it means for a lot of people.

It’s a bandwidth hog. Would you rather have lag all the time or a smooth, playable experience? I’d much prefer the good connection thanks.

Maybe if 343i copy and pastes everything from Halo 4 to Halo 5 they’ll have time in they’re development schedule to also include these features that bo has.

Theres always something to -Yoink- about.

Specator mode takes up a lot of bandwidth, especially if your system uses a single player as host in matchmaking like Halo 4.

Black Ops 2 is likely to use dedicated servers as all COD games do these days, allowing for certain features that are otherwise not possible.

As for the skill-based rank you refer to: it worlds on leagues, much like the Arena system in Halo Reach. The only difference I can see is that it won’t be reset. From what I can tell, this skill-rating is in now way connected to the game’s progression system

Black Ops 2 has a lot of new features, yes, but that doesn’t automatically mean it will be good.

Anyway, the point of these forums is not to compare or bash different developers, nor does this topic have any real relationship to Halo 4.
