By average gamer I am referring to the adult non pro gamer who plays maybe a few times a week. When they are not busy with work school children etc. This is evident in the choice for multiplayer they have made in Halo 5. CSRs based off of team wins and losses, matchmaking that focuses on speed over quality of matchmaking so that there are always those well above or below your skill level in a match, theses so called seasons and the rest you have to go through in order to rank so that you can hopefully have a match with players of similar skill level and enjoy it. All of this shows they are catering to the pro gamer crowd and those who it is their major hobby in life. This leaves the average gamer with a barely enjoyable or totally unenjoyable experience. They send out surveys but rarely is any meaningful change enacted. For all these reasons I say 343 doesn’t care about you.
Now on a side note I am not a 343 hater, I rather enjoyed Halo 4 and even the MCC (when it worked) and I am not a Biggie fanboy. I am just a guy who likes the Halo games and universe and am disappointed in what I payed a lot of money for.
Quick match making directly supports those who do not have long or often to play by reducing the time searching for matches. It is simply your personal preference that you play with people near your skill level. It has nothing to do with how often or seriously you take the game when playing.

Fixed some typos, grammar, and helped you out there. Cheers!
Halo 4 was designed for the average gamer and it was the biggest failure in halo history. That’s when the company decided to try giving a focus to this “pro” group to see if it would lead to more success. Only time will tell which method is more successful, but don’t act like the company didn’t try to cater an entire halo game to you.

This was amusing the first time. But now it’s just turning into spam.

Good. =). People get bored and rant on here. I get bored and edit their rants. At the end of the day the threads get buried either way.

Non-adult non-pro gamer here that plays maybe once a week due to amazing highschool work checking in. 343i doesn’t really care about solo players because they keep matching me with thumb-less newbs against smurfers. Thus lowering my enjoyment of Halo 5.
loudly stomps away yelling about random internet things

It’s ok I know =). Hope you didn’t mind my fix up post.

Just remember this, you can always add social elements to a competitive game to appease this average gamer you reference, but you can’t add competitiveness to a game built for casual enjoyment. If you want to build a game for both groups, start with the competitive and then add in the correct social elements.
I will say its extremely competitive but in a good way.
go play social even though it really isn’t.
there’s always war zone but that gets repetitive after a while.

As a non-casual gamer I don’t think they cater to either, well I feel like there more focused on trying to make a twitch shooter style which is quite a stressful game, Anyone can claim to be pro but yes I’m barely having any enjoyable experiences with modern Halo.
