Just curious because it’s not very easy to follow your threads and posts/replies. When someone quotes you, why don’t you get a notification? I hop form topic to topic quite frequently and I am finding it very hard to help people out or reply to them because it’s impossible to tell when they have replied to you.
I mean, even in the main screen it doesn’t tell who the last person to post was. It only tells you how long ago someone replied. And why don’t the moderators ever comment or help users? I remember a long time ago the Bungie.net forums were way better than this and Bungie was more involved with its users. Why can’t you guys follow their example?
Frankly, I don’t think the forum layout is that bad. Would a “last reply by X user” and notifications be a good addition? Sure. But following threads isn’t that difficult. Maybe I just have enough experience with the system after an ungodly amount of time, but I really can’t say I have a worse time than when I previous was on Bungie.net. I will grant that a better interaction with administrators and forumgoers is needed, I really miss bs angel and Bravo probably does the best he can, but someone with a bit more of a presence would be nice. The mods do help when they can, but they are people. You may recall Bungie mods being great, but I remember how badly the community treated them way back when. Same problem here, the mods do their jobs and are labelled as worse than -Yoink!- for doing so.
I quite prefer the new layout to the old one I think. Sure it’s a bit annoying that you can’t easily follow replies / quotes, but I’m sure (read: hope / would like to see) the web team will update the forums with something like email replies on web notifications. I’ve posted a few suggestions in the Halo Waypoint Support forums and have seen them implemented - whether this was based on my suggestion or something they had planned anyways I don’t know, but I like to think I inspired a little change
I agree with Cobra, we really do need someone that can bridge the gap a little more between the community and 343. The mods certainly do what they can around here, but as you’ve probably noticed, it can get very hectic, very fast. If you have any idea or suggestions, I’d drop them in here and hopefully they will get picked up.
