I only select the Quick Play list if someone has a gun to my head tbph
I heard that the menu UI is so strict that you cant have too many playlists.
Or the MCC matchmaking composer
Same excuse that people used in Halo 5 after that game’s mass exodus. Maybe it’s all by design so 343 can have the game that they want.
That’s the problem with shipping a broken game. People left because of the lack of playlists… and then you can’t introduce more playlists because you don’t have enough players. A good dev knows that BEFORE launching a game…
Tell 343 that.
That’s the reasoning they used to exclude slayer at launch and beyond.
The precedent was set. You want other playlists? Too bad. Too detrimental to other playlists “health.”
That’s entirely 343s fault. They alienated the majority of their player base by not including the playlists they desired at launch.
The majority of people wanted slayer. We didn’t get that for weeks post launch. I, for instance, wanted Doubles. I haven’t played a game of S2 yet; but I’m assuming it still isn’t there. I won’t be back until it is permanent.
343i inadvertently sabotaged the game due to their awful decisions. Decisions that have plagued this series since their takeover. No one wanted a live service game, here we are. We wanted a complete game with a large pool of maps. We didn’t get that.
I would happily pay 60 for a complete multiplayer experience and extra for large map packs. They chased trends that simply aren’t working.
Wait until the Battle Royale that little to no one asked for is released. It’s only going to get worse.
You can’t release an absolutely broken experience over and over again and expect to keep a healthy population. The community can only take so much abuse before they say enough.
Every Halo game created by 343 has to be different from each other. It seems they do this on purpose so each of their titles will have a different reason for players to go back and play each one of them(that or they are confused on how to continue a story). In other words, 343 is a just business(that was hand picked and hired by Microsoft), that cares more about making money than establishing a solid foundation to continue building the Halo universe even further. Which would still inevitably bring in money but 343 and Microsoft are cold and calculated, they don’t really care about passion or creativity, they only see numbers and data.
There’s no way to change things now, not unless 343 is secretly working away in the background completely overhauling everything from the ground up, what you have now is what you have. It would be like baking a cake and after the cake is baked taking it out of the oven and deciding hey you know what, I’m going to take out the vanilla, or I’m going to add more baking powder, you can’t.
When talking Splitgate, It’s amazing how snappy and user-friendly the interface is, and their studio is how big? It’s not an AAA title, obviously, but if they stay on track, just wait. Halo Infinite is like if you upgraded to a new more expensive car, but it only sometimes started, it’s just unreliable, and nobody wants a ride in an unreliable car.
This isn’t true. MCC didn’t do match composer at launch. They could quite easily launch the matchcomposer with a season changeover like MCC did.
Matchcomposer would condense the floundering playlist population so that finding matches would be easier.
People finding that matches are harder to find can simply choose more and more gametypes until they do match.
The actual hard to accept reality is that like MCC, this game won’t be good for a couple of more years at best.
It would be nice to be able to pick the games types
you want to play. Hell 343i did it in Halo MCC why the hell not in Halo Infinite???
Peace!

There seemed to be more flexibility to modify things in MCC, I do not see any evidence there is the ability to make sweeping changes in Infinite, it is baked in, not unless as I said, in the background they are rebuilding things from the ground up, but I would imagine they are playing the last viable hand they have, and that is getting the community building content with Forge. 343 has released no new content, the events are not new content, it’s just doing the same thing you’ve been doing, except, now you can get a new Hat.
This is in your face market testing, how many times can they get people to do the same thing over and over and at the same time make them believe it’s something new, it’s almost working, just a bit more tweaking.
Matchcomposer is not a huge reinvention of anything.
The main brains of matchmaking is already being done by their servers. When you join you are being “subscribed” to the list of candidates suited to be matched to a “slayer” game. They would only need to tweak it so that you can subscribe to multiple playlists at the same time and then tweak the game’s GUI to suit.
Had they never done it before then I would potentially agree with you… But they already have the assets to use in-house.
Sadly, forge will also suffer unless they do something to make the forge content acceessible through some kind of custom games browser and fileshare browser. Even Halo 3 was more advanced in this area.
They could put an action sack playlist in. But it would do much better under a matchcomposer setup where you could break down forge gametypes you would like to play further.
I agree 100% Forge will useless without a custom game browser. It would like buying a new car without and engine! ![]()
Peace!

Played a lot of splitgate until my friends quit it.
The most fun I’ve had with a shooter since halo 2.
Since this game came out, it surprises me how many people are new to Halo. or coming back
