343, do what Splitgate and CoD do: Have multiple smaller playlists and people can select all the playlists they want to play. Keeps search times and ping low, and people can play what they actually want to play

I’ve seen posts of people wanting BR team slayer and people that want AR + Sidekick team slayer. And I’ve seen people that really don’t care. So how about we do what Splitgate, CoD and probably a lot of other games already do: multiple smaller playlists that people can select. Whatever game has the first spot open wins and you get to that one.

So how I picture it:

Team Slayer BR

Team Slayer AR + Sidekick

4v4 with vehicles

Fiesta

Quickplay Oddball

Quickplay CtF

Quickplay Strongholds

Quickplay King of the Hill

Shotty + Snipers

Tactical Slayer BR

Tactical Slayer Sidekick

Tactical Slayer Mangler

Tactical Slayer Commando

Tactical Slayer Stalker Rifle

FFA Slayer

FFA Oddball

FFA playlist 3

Ranked Slayer

Ranked Objective

Et cetera

Et cetera

There are probably a lot of sub-game modes I missed. I left BTB out on purpose by the way.

You can select 1 playlist and it will probably take a while to get a game. You can select them all and you will probably have a game within a few seconds.

Now it would also be handy to be able to select if you want to get into a game ASAP or that you want to wait a bit longer and get into a low ping game.

Hope this can be implemented!

so, a bit like the MCC searching?

Honestly, 343 really needs to draw more inspiration from the MCC Match Composer for Halo Infinite. It provides a lot of flexibility in both game modes and player count.

way too late to implement this. There are barely enough players to fill all thos mentioned playlists

Unfortunately they’ll have to do extensive studies on this as it could negatively impact the playlist health of Quick Play. At least that was the excuse for not having a dedicated slayer playlist at launch……

343 is in the running for worst decision makers in the history of game developers.

-botched MCC launch.
-whatever Halo 4/5 was.
-now infinite and their “Priority 0” approach to its development.

I was wo surprised to see Halo Infinite without match composer, it’s so nonsense !

Zappy beat me to the punch, but we 100% need the MCC’s match composer. I’ve heard arguments for and against it, and some of them are pretty sound, but it’s just a great system all around. No nonsense: it would make many of the in-game challenges feasible, especially as they release more modes.

The pop is too low and its not coming back
They wont add more than a playlist or two IF that.

I haven’t heared arguments against it, but i agree we need MCC’s match composer.

With a low pop you need it more, so you can search for more then 1 playlist at a time. Without it you can only search for 1 and that would only increase searching times.

The playlists they have now already take long enough to find a game

Haha, sorry. Maybe blasphemy, but I never played MCC. :grimacing: But if MCC already has it, then I don’t even need to explain it to 343.

Yes, so if you can select multiple playlists, you’ll have a game faster. That’s the whole point.

The playlists I’ve named are already in the game. Just lumped together. So 343 needs to cut them up and people can select as many as they want. Result: lower search times and you only play gamemodes you want to play.

Yeah, sorry about that. I never played MCC, but that would’ve been a better way to make my point than with Splitgate and CoD. :joy:

Gah! That was so aggravating to hear.
You’re telling me that you are concerned about playlist population health right now when you’ve got probably 1m active players?? So you intentionally launched the game with only 3 playlists? NO! We are not stupid. You were rushed and launched an incomplete game.

Ive been playing the MCC, but only on the campaign so far. What is match composer? Also i think a personal playlist would be pretty dope. Pick 5 or so modes and hit the start button. No need to go back to the menu and look for it. After each match, you’ll instantly be queued up for the next game. Just spitballin here

Gotcha. I originally played the Halo games when they all first came out. Ex wife wanted to play halo a few years back and we got the MCC. She left almost 2 years ago, so I havent really played the MCC at all. Just recently got back into the older games. Just enjoyin the campaigns in chronological order
