So, I’ve been thinking this for ages but upon seeing a picture advertising Halo:CE:A I snapped.
Now 343, you’ve just copy pasted the “Army” soldiers skins and models and Assault Rifles.
These are incorrect as the troops in Halo:CE ARE NAVY MARINES, NOT ARMY SOLDIERS!
Bungie came up with a whole explanation of why the AR in Reach was different to the one in Halo:CE, that Halo: Reach was the Army not the Navy, but oh no, you guys just have to screw it up don’t you?
I’m not saying the games developed badly, hell its still the Badger engine under that Reach Skin, so they couldn’t really go wrong.
It’s just that they screwed up continuity.
Well me for a start, I’m sure other Halo fans must care and the guys at Bungie who spent time coming up with the explanation that 343 have just gone “meh shrugs shoulders” to.
Substantial story? You like the fact it’s based on the Forerunners?
IT’S THE SAME GAME BUNGIE MADE 10 YEARS AGO!
ALL 343 did was stick the Reach engine over it (which probably took quite a bit of effort) and left the skins from Reach on it.

That armour looks exactly the same. They didn’t have the tech back then to make it look like that. The Halo Reach shotgun is in Anniversary but 343 made an explanation as to why it is there. Also, the Pillar of Autumn was on Reach and alot of Army soldiers would have boarded it to try and escape. How else was there that many soldiers on Halo? When only the Pillar of Autumn and a few others landed on it?
There was Marines and ODSTs in it. The Marines are almost exactly the same as the Army guys (and the CEA Marines aren’t quite the same as either) and both used the stupid Army Assault Rifle even though the Marines jumped right off of the PoA.
The Reach AR model hasn’t been in Anniversary since like the first build they showed it’s very much an MA5B model now.
In Reach it only shows a few Military Police aboard the Pillar of Autumn.
It was Marines aboard otherwise.
All of the soldiers on Halo were Marines, none were soldiers.

Shotguns from Reach in CEA? Read the last ONI Data Drop.
Soldiers = Person in the military. Marines, Army whatever.

Indeed. The whole thing was a wasted effort because of something that doesn’t affect gameplay and over 99% of people playing it will never notice. sheesh
You obviously didnt play CEA did you? They changed the AR to the Halo 1 model and there are marines in it again. Guessing you only saw the E3 build and decided to bash it based off of that.
Please next time before you complain do a bit more research or you just look like an idiot.
