343 did a very great job on this one

while some of us complains about the req system and the unlockings of it, i have recently played battlefield 1.
great game btw, and i have played it quit alot
and after so many battle packs and resselling weapon skins to get good skins after 1 month of playing every day, i have only 1 legendary skin thats worth keeping.
this is such a turn off for a game its very VERY frustrating
because there are chances for duplicates,
theres is absolutley no fun in that.
also you get packs after a match ends and its random to who gets it, so if you play 4 matches of 25minuts there is a chance that you wont get -Yoink-,
i am kind of surprised as what gaming has become and evolved to, i have seen this kind of system in many games and i really dont understand how people can keep up with this without blowing up.
because of this kind of practices developers injects in their games i have basically stopped playing Battlefield 1
because a game is to have fun and not to get frustrated.

something 343 did not do, when you open up packs you know you will always be unlocking something new and never get the same -Yoink- over and over again and eventually get the stuff you really want.

i am very greatfull for that, i hope this system stays in the future (thumps up to you 343, really did a great job on this) cant wait for next content update cuz i have 150000+rp to spend

ow btw… elites… in MP… we need them.

the servers is what annoys people about halo 5 and how inconsistent they are

I think you sub-consciously highlight one of the bigger problems of today’s gaming.
The content-reward-incentive-thingy. You play a game and have a chance of getting something “tangiable” as a reward for playing said game, in the game, or will get something.

Personally I sank too deep into the “need to play one more match in order to get more items”-ditch, which is when I stopped enjoying the game for what it was, a game.
In Halo Wars 2, I had stopped completely, I have yet to even open my 63 card packs.

You say Battlefield 1 is a great game, but stopped due to the reward system being what it was. Sure, I can get behind that logic, a bad reward system doesn’t really do good for the game itself. Then again, perhaps you should reconsider the reason you’re playing? It sounds like a cliche, all anti-consumerism and anti-materialism, but when you play a game with post-match rewards, try to ignore them for 10 matches or so, concentrate on the game itself, contemplate on how the game played and completely ignore and forget the skins, weapons, coins or whatever you get post-match.

As far as the topic goes, I haven’t played BF1, but compared to it, then yes, Halo 5’s system is good, you can’t have duplicate skins.
However I’d say that’s where the good of it ends.
When the collection is sorted in the chronological order you unlocked them in, and there are hundreds of unlocks, even related to each other (armor variants), many a brain-cells for me die.

Pretty much.

With how bad it’s been this generation, they should just gut the entire thing and rewrite it from scratch.

I agree with both of you. Im not taking anything away from the Op but the bottom line is they need to do something about the performance of this game. If the performance is horrible the rest doesn’t matter. Ive never played a game with such inconsistency between games in my life! If this game played proper or consistent I would play the heck out of it! Priority number one in any game has to be performance. A good foundation is key to success! Halo5 doesn’t have that.

Zippy.

here I am, still waiting for an oni wasp…

I feel like I have a better chance of running into 343 employees than getting wasps out of packs. (I have a wierd feeling I ran into one ages ago but I never recognised the name till some one else said they ran into them).

Same mate, haven’t gotten one in the past 2 1/2 weeks.

Yeah the req system isn’t as bad as most make it out to be. Had 343 kept more cosmetics unlockable through game play or added wild cards so players could pick a particular req from time to time more would be accepting of it. But the req system sure isn’t the worse system out there.
