Yeah, would be better if Microsoft would just let the community thrive under a free to play Halo game on PC. I’m sure they have their reasons though. I know Bungie was always doing things to try and keep ownership of their gameplay all the time (I mean really SMG starts in Matchmaking?)
I won’t be buying a Halo 3 remastered game if it’s all you get with the game though. I just don’t think it’s a very good Halo or atleast one that would never reach its potential, with the weapon sandbox balance all over the place and resulting in many random outcomes. But, that’s just my opinion and it’s not a big deal if other people think it’s “classic” or even great.
I do think this franchise will need to start going cross-platform eventually to compete with the PC market which seems to be booming, despite the fact that games on console have more enjoyable graphics, performance/convenience, and gameplay mechanics. Cross-platform isn’t the easiest thing though, so I don’t blame them if they keep to XBox-only.
