I think ‘Halo’ restricts/limits many things that 343 tries to do. They try to do something and the community deny and refuse to accept it, because their additions destroy what made Halo in the first place most of the time. For once, I think it will be good to let 343 to create a brand new game outside of Halo and do what they truly want, being free from restrictions of Halo. It’s pathetic to see 343 hardly try to implement something with such poor compromise that nobody wants.
Of course, 343 Industries was established to continue the Halo franchise for Microsoft, but as long as they make Xbox/Windows exclusive game, Microsoft won’t have problem with that. Or this is the time for Microsoft to let Halo go like Sony did with Uncharted. “Halo is different from Uncharted, it has gigantic universe like Star Wars, you can’t compare those two”, yes it does and Halo universe has so much potential. But I do not think it is good to keep same thing forever. Star Wars The Force Awakens for instance, Disney acquired Lucas Film and they had to make money out of it to make profit from its purchase. Star Wars The Force Awakens was their (Disney’s) first film to release. I am a huge Star Wars fan and was super hyped for Episode 7, but once I watched it, I was very disappointed that I wanted to deny that it was Star Wars. To me, that film did not feel like Star Wars at all. That was something I never expected, something I never wanted to see from a Star Wars film. This is how I feel about the current Halo.
I am not saying they should throw Halo into the garbage and never making again. I am just sayingwhat can 343 do without any restriction they have currently. Maybe 343 could do better job at making their own game. Maybe making the bestseller leading people to purchase Xbox, the true console seller like Halo CE was. They can try it for once. If their game succeeds, they could continue their game and do whatever they want with their vision.
What do you guys think on 343 making their own game other than Halo?

They’re already struggling to produce Halo titles on-time as is. Throwing in a new IP would lead to longer release times between Halo titles and really stretch them thin.
I’m beginning to get the impression people are fans of 343i, not fans of Halo. For people that claim to only want the best for Halo, you’re pretty quick to shove it aside…
I’m doubtful 343i actually has any special vision. I.e. they didn’t add -Yoink- like Spartan Abilities to “fit their vision”, they did it because they thought it would make the game sell better. At any rate I’d take great delight in watching them make a new modern game fit with all the gimmicks they can muster, only for it to crash and burn in the end.

The thing is Halo fans hate what 343 is doing currently with Halo. There are people playing this Halo, because they like it or because it is Halo. There are even people not playing Halo because of it’s Halo. You saw the all the hate from Halo 4 and what they did with Halo 5. They are still doing what they want, but once it’s done, it gets a lot of hate. See you can the poor compromise on sprint. 343 wants sprint and fans don’t, so 343 came up with compromise (it’s not even a compromise in my opinion) to not get hate again. Yet, there is another big thread talking about removal of sprint.
I think their vision is ‘modernizing’ the game.
Just saying 343 could try new I.P. for once to see if their own work succeed or fail without a ‘Halo’ title.
It’d be nice if 343i split into two teams, one would work on Halo and make sure Halo is as Halo as possible. The other team could work on a different game/franchise and pour all of 343i’s “non-Halo” ideas into that.
