As much as it burns my soul to have hit this XP cap again, I finally realized that 343 isn’t going to remove it at all which is going to damn near kill this game. You already dabbed too much into COD already, why not go 100% and take off the cap?
You’re so worried about cheaters, did you realize that you guys are punishing the community who’s dedicated to the game and the series? The ones that actually want to spend hours upon hours in multiplayer are limited because of the cap. I hit the cap and im not touching this game till it resets, ill be -Yoink!- if i lose out on major XP from completing a challenge or commendation.
Just permaban the cheaters when you catch them. How many halo games has it been so far? the other games should be warning enough. I’ve seen so many petitions, polls, requests, people begging from Reach up to now about the Credit/XP cap. If Bungie didn’t remove it why would 343. I love the game, but i can’t spend as much time on it like i did Halo3 because of the cap. I’m almost 100% sure im not the only one who feels this way.

Somebody call this kids mom to pick him up and take him to McDonalds so she can buy him some French-Cries and a WHAAAAAAAAAAmburger.
Get over it. I haven’t hit the XP cap ONCE since the game’s launch. Perhaps you should get out of the house and get some air or do something other than play Halo all day.
Second of all, the game has only been out less than a week. They will fix it. In the mean time go do something else and stop flooding the forums with your BS.
I do in fact have a pretty active social life. Hang out when friends, go to work, go to college, but when im on my free time all i want to do is kick back and log in some hours in some good ole Halo. i have a team i play with. and you know when you get on a win streak you just cant stop and call it quits. So The XP adds up after playing for hours at a time.
> I don’t mean to be rude but… just how much are you guys playing to get this so called cap? I’ve been playing MP a lot, and I’ve yet to hit it.

> Do you not sleep?
I don’t sleep. And I hit it after about 5-6 hours.

LoL a whaaamburger. You havent hit the cap cause you didnt play as much as i did. ok, good for you. you have less time to play halo than i do. and you sound almost positive that 343 is going to fix every single problem. i doubt theyll do that at all

How strange… I’ve had work off and I’ve been playing MP/Spartan Ops since the 5th almost solidly for most of the day and until about 11pm/12am at night.

Actually, it takes MUCH longer than that to hit XP cap. SR24 is where people first hit it. Considering you got that in the first 2 days is sad. You know why 2 days? Because thats what the cap is set for, or it could be one…

Wow, what an immature reply. Dude has some valid points, if you can’t handle different opinions you’re going to have a hard time in life.

Well i got it on midnight release and i only have about 17 hours logged, so thats playing halo when im not sitting in lectures, working, or hanging out with my friends. this is nothing compared to how i was on Halo3 years ago. have you ever got so focused into a game where you would forget you were hungry? lmao that was me years ago, but now im lucky to even have time to play, and when i do have time to play i dont want this cap holding me back.
I’ve hit the cap every day so far. Yesterday I actually only went up two levels and capped. I have no idea what the limit is or why it seems so inconsistent, but tons of people on my friends list are hitting it repeatedly. It’s getting kind of annoying.
If 343 lifted the cap people would be final rank by now. In a way it’s kinda 343’s fault for making the xp progression system easily finish-able. They also don’t want people to get too far ahead of others so it all works out. It kinda kills the online at times though. It’s weird because I’ve already heard “Welp… I hit the cap so looks like I’m done for the night” at least 5 times by a few friends during long awesome game session. We would be wrecking things up having a blast and then people would leave one by one because they were hitting the cap. I love Halo 4 I’m not gonna lie, but hitting that cap is such a buzzkill. I’ve only hit it once but even playing knowing I could hit it makes me play less often. I’ve played the campaign on solo normal, solo legendary, and most levels co-op legendary just to ensure I didn’t hit the cap while my friends were offline.
When it comes down to it I kinda agree with 343 in a way though. They are ensuring that people aren’t just grinding away at the game. That is the real way to kill games. If you ever find yourself playing for the sole purpose of leveling up quicker than everyone else you’re probably not actually enjoying the game.
Personally I think they should take the cap off, boosters are hardly getting experience now anyway because you get experience based off how well you play, and they’ll look like idiots when they’re a high rank and can’t compete with others the same rank as them.

Oh the irony. It seems you lot can’t handly my opinion either. Don’t be a hypocrite. It’s my opinion you guys should get out even more than you say you do.
I didn’t work yesterday. Played 7 hours. Played 3 hours in the morning. Left to go to the gym with some friends then to see Wreck-it Ralph, ordered some Pizza and played for 4 more hours. No level cap.
I mean, you have to play way to much in order to hit any sort of cap. If you hit the cap then just play for FUN and stop being a bunch of try-hards.

I understand what you’re saying, but leveling is part of the fun as well, and missing out on those commendations and challenges can be a pain later on when you could really use the xp for that next level.
If Halo didnt have a ranking system at all then it wouldnt be that bad of a problem, but i love having a goal to work towards, and after i hit that goal, i play for fun and show off what i earned, whether its a shiny new armor piece, new look of Rank Icon, etc. I just love to play, but constantly cutting me off while im working towards a goal. Is like hearing "Next Time on Dragon Ball Z when you were young then having to wait a week to see what happens
