Halo follower (like him or not) breaks down the latest multiplayer trailer and time line in which it is set which also causes more messy inaccurate lore i also agree 343 over the years have made a mess of the lore when it comes to halo and this is why my biggest concern is how the campaign story will turn out in infinite! After halo 5 ive just lost faith…

I agree. He just seems like he hates covering Halo in general these days. The guy is overly pessimistic and lost the energy which made him more watchable. I felt like the lore was off however we do not know the context and it is for multiplayer so it matters little.

Always dubious of links. And ot was for that absolute monster of a man Chris “Ron” halo follower.
I watched a few his videos pre halo 4 and the quality wasn’t there and he used pathetic excuses and victimised himself to gain pity over improving his content. I left the channel.
Then he hired tonnes of folks, made more channels other ip followers, only to not pay any of the staff, deny it.
Make up excuses and give a half -Yoinked!- apology when reddit started to put him on blast.
Changed his name.
Only to continue making low quality content and under pay his people.
If you are gonna support that trash then provide a summary of what he said and your stance OP.

Sorry people, i have edited the post and explained my opinion along with information on what the attached link contains, thanks for all your feedback and opinions, i myself have been a huge halo fan since the start of the halo games like most of you and i am just here cause i enjoy discussing the franchise and my concerns for halo going forward, i am not hear to slate other peoples opinions or argue, i just enjoy discussing these subjects and seing what other fans opinions and feelings towards the halo are. So I had a thread up that covered this about 40 mins after the trailer went live and we cover all the logic as to why this happened. And some ways you could excuse it.
Ultimately this is halo 4 prologue issue again.
I think the thread was titled question about hope 2021 trailer. But 2 more popped up in the hours following had some good discourse.
Toafreak on halo canon kind of summed it up well in his latest canon fodder breakdown so perhaps watch that also.
If anything I’d take this opportunity to follow other youtubers for your halo needs.
Personally not a fan of hidden Xperia hes gotten sort of arrogant over the years and as a chef I found his jump to cooking channel pretty poor. And his takes to be making less and less sense as of late but he is at least honest and outs out consistent content.
Halo canon, installation 00, covenant follower are all solid some stellar smaller creators out their 2.
Chrisrons content is pretty sub par and he is straight up a liar and thief not to mention makes so many mistakes it feels either purposeful for his narratives or he just doesn’t care.
Either way, watch what you like wont tell you otherwise but make sure you know who you support as best you can and keep an open mind looking at new sources for discourse.
Obviously just being on here is one the best places to get informed as long as you understand bias.

He’s not wrong, I definitely don’t feel very bought in with that cinematic to begin with, it’s alright, but add in the laziness with Spartan 4s at the battle of earth, it’s just confusing and takes away from the weight of the entire scene. It feels like it doesn’t even exist in the canon.
I always thought making multiplayer canon starting in Halo 4 was kind of dumb and unnecessary to begin with. But if they insist on having that be the case, at least try and stick to the established lore with it.
Is it the end of the world? No, but it’s still kind of irksome and takes me out of the experience.
its a mp trailer, who cares. There trying to show off armors u get in mp. bar the weapons and armor its fine, the setting make sense. If it were a sp trailer id probably care more as thats looked at more towards story. I’ll be the first to call bs if im playing Campaign and notice stuff thats off, its one of the reasons i dont like Halo reach.
Still this isn’t just a thing thats new, bungie did it all the time. its always been an issue in halo. Books have been re written to fix these things in the past, cough reach , cough. so yeh , id say wotever, chill out, its just a mp trailer.

What the hell is that?
I would argue that this an issue with 343 not changing the lore enough. And by that I mean instead of chalking up significant artistic changes to artistic license, 343 insists of keeping everything in continuity.
Lots of people treat “retcon” as a dirty word, but sometimes that is simply the best solution. Its a good way to avoid ending up with weird incongruities where some 2559 model of something shows up in 2558 along with things that may come much later or what have you.
I don’t really care how its all supposed to fit in a trailer for some multiplayer fluff, but it did strike me as odd seeing such different art styles slapped together here and elsewhere just so 343 avoid the ire of people who get up in arms about “retcons” even after a fairly significant artistic departure from what they started out doing. I’ll be the first to admit that I used to care about making sure everything fits together all neat and tidy but now it just feels like an artificial limit rather than being any sort of boon the the storyline.
Yeah, I’m not a huge fan of the way they handled that. I felt that they were more concerned with trying to make us care about their random new spartan number 7. The trailers repeated emphasis on her necklace and later on her symbol on the armor felt like they needed to repeatedly make sure their stupid viewers could make the connection between the woman in street clothes and the spartan whose face was identical. Ultimately, it did nothing to make me care about her or her story.
That makes it all the worse that they did wacky -Yoink- with timelines just to poorly highlight a character I don’t care about.

wouldnt watch halo follower if you paid me to. however 343 did the same thing here as they have done the entirety of halo 4 and 5, but some examples are
- the forward unto dawn at the start of halo 4 is the wrong ship and is way larger then it should have been - the swords of sanghelios in halo 5 are the wrong model this is because of development time - the spartans at the start of halo in the cutscene are the wrong armor.343 isnt Too worried about being lore correct they just like showing off their new models.
Why tf did HaloFollower even change his name? Just randomly started calling himself “Ron” one day several years ago, I assumed as part of some sort of ridiculous gag that would last maybe a couple days. Years later he’s still calling himself Ron for no reason (for those unaware his real name is Chris).
Since then it’s just been constant childish nonsense and complaining. Stopped watching long ago along with most others.
