343 confirms desync fixes are not currently being worked on

That’s because they don’t understand what F2P’s are about.

You’re always giving up something in order to play for free. In infinite’s case, content. Unlike $60 releases like Halo 3 or Reach, you barely received any armor sets to customize your spartan with. No core playlists, nothing that would make Halo’s multiplayer a complete experience.

H5 had at least something at launch.

Gotta focus on reaching that broader audience right?
Community: Hey 343i can desync get addressed?
343i: Naw but here is an over priced armor bundle that was in previous Halo titles.

Since every post neds feedback or it will be hidden here is mine.

343, listen to the community desync alone made the game not even last 10 months of your 10 year plan.

List of recommendations that aren’t exactly groundbreaking but would help.

Fix desync
Unlockable items by PLAYING the game. (Challenge Swaps don’t count)
Social features ie. Partying up, file sharing etc you know, like Bungie had
Reach style customization
And of course an actual road map.

I’ve said it since the beginning: they don’t know how to fix it and a fix won’t be priority. If they knew how, it would have been done by now.

Absolutely right. Its never going to get fixed.

With how many $60 games are released busted and don’t get reasonably fixed for months or more, I’m happy to not have to pay for Infinite.

I am literally not surprised at this point and I’m loving not playing the game. I’m jumping back in once or twice a week to stay up to date on new things (LOL) but other then that I haven’t played in like 2 or 3 weeks and I feel happier for it.

Man this game and the development is a joke.
Is it any wonder that they’ve had a 96.6% player drop from steam alone?

I’m so used to compensating for the desync at this point I would probably play worse if they ever fixed it

So 343 just admitted that one of the arteries that’s bleeding this title dry isn’t important enough to fix… but hey the SHOP sure does get a steady flow of content doesn’t it fellas?

My disappointment is immeasurable.

Jeez, considering the quality of the coatings and stuff available now I could draw and code my own halo dress up game that would be infinitely  more satisfying

This is from Unyshek, on twitter.

Yes, for right now, most networking resources are focused on helping deliver a quality experience for online campaign co-op. However, this doesn’t mean we’re ignoring desync – the team is still constantly investigating reports as they come in. Both efforts require lots of TLC.

Take this as you will.

I gotta say, this is just sad… The state of Halo infinite. This game had such promise but by the gods has this game been disappointing (to put it kindly)

As many others, I’m just tired and done with things. None of my friends (30+ on my list) play this game anymore and the ones that do only play a few times a month. Everyone has gone back to MCC, H5 or another game completely. The major issues for the majority of us are

  • terrible networking (terrible ping, desync, etc)
  • lack of campaign co-op
  • lack of a Firefight mode (Even telling us that it’s going to come eventually would be something)
  • lack of a RANKED Team Slayer playlist

I don’t even care about the progression system as much as those other issues nor do most of my friends.

In my opinion the networking needs to be the number one priority then campaign co-op. I know they won’t do it because it’s free to play but honestly the store should be permanently put on hold and everyone should be focused on fixing these networking issues that has the technical expertise to do it.

I appreciate them being upfront about this but Halo Infinite really needs a major overhaul. I hate saying it, but I honestly think a lot, if not all of the top people need to go. This revolving door of hiring people for 6-12 months, the lack of direction (everything seems VERY disorganized) in my opinion poor leadership and so much more.

This game was supposed to put Halo back on the map! And all it’s done is fad Halo more into oblivion I’m sorry to say. I’ve been a fan since the first month Halo CE came out (yes I’m older lol) I’ve been threw/seen all the ups and downs and I can honestly say this is as bad (maybe worse in a way) as the MCC launch. I know this won’t happen, but maybe take the game off (At least the multiplayer part) the store, overhaul this game, fix a ton of stuff and re-launch the game.

I do think the game will EVENTUALLY be good, but as of now I’m betting that’s a minimum of 2 years from now. This game should of been delay.

Actually it is, because they don’t have a road map for anything, and they weren’t planing on making one either for anything. It’s the community that literally brought it up and 343 played off of it as if “they were looking into it”.

Tbh, I don’t even think half the content that should have been added in this beta has really been worked on. I think 343 has slacking big time.

Reallocated too what??

They aren’t doing anything.

The top three issues are desync, content, and anti cheat.

We won’t see any new content for another 4 months, and anti cheat is a joke. Have you googled halo infinite hack lately??

I bet you dimes to dollars, they got redeployed to the MCC microtransactions initiative.
Bunch of greedy…

It would take a single below average coder maybe a few hours at most, to write a program to purchase 5 tokens for $1 on the Microsoft Store. I don’t think they would need the whole Infinite programming team. Then again, 343 said that they even needed all of their artists and 3D modelers to help fix BTB, and a single employee could not be spared to fix their crooked cosmetics. I wouldn’t be surprised at this point.

The companies responsibilities to its shareholders.

Here’s a (hopefully) different response - it’s part of the revenue model. Releasing season exclusive cosmetics incentivizes players to buy buy buy because after this season, store rotation, etc the cosmetic will no longer be available. Its the same idea behind their weekly award items;

In their meagre defense - ‘net code’ IS an umbrella term that doesn’t do the problem justice. Improving the network performance could be a code thing or a physical hardware thing. If only they had a team for that…

Let’s all take a moment to let this sink in.

Halo Infinite Coop and Halo Infinite MP are both in such a bad state 8 months after launch, that the networking team looked at both of them and said, “The bugs are too complex for us to work on both of those at the same time.”

From what evidence we’ve seen, the whole programming department is likely down to a single recent graduate that works from home with Netflix on one monitor and teams chat and Twitter on the other.

My money is on the janitor is the whole programming team. Every time I read something new about 343, it’s that they’re always losing people, and always understaffed. Instead of having 10 teams divided per task, one team does everything, one inefficient step at a time, in order of easiest to hardest task. The major issues never get fixed fast enough
