I am 99% sure that there is a bug with the new system update!
The reason I say this is because over the last few days I thought I was being banned and the ban reset at midnight with the credits. So today I decided to pay close attention to everything. I played 16 games today before I hit the credit limit My game history)exactly 120,000 credits (plus I thought that was raised?). I only DNFed once because I had to give my wife a ride to class. After I had hit the credit limit I my commendations stopped with the credits. This needs to be fixed!!! If you check out my resent posts I believed I was getting banned but after looking closer same thing happened those days as well (right after I updated my xbox). Will a 343 employee that understands what I am talking about PM me please.

You mean you can’t increase your commendations when you hit the credit limit? Did this ever happen before the TU?
It had never happened to me before. It started three days ago after I updated the Xbox 360 software. And yes exactly what you said. No Commendations and that is the only thing I play towards since I got inheritor.
There is something else to so I played another FF doubles game and of course my teammate quit before the game started but anyways I got 4 vehicle kills and 1 perfection but I didn’t get anything for it.
So next I tried playing the campaign to see if that would work and it did. WTF Why can I earn commendations toward campaign which I don’t need but not FF.
This is really upsetting and the third day in a row I’ve had this problem. So again please help fix this problem please.
Or at least give me a good explanation.

When you increased your Campaign commendations, did you play for under a minute and already have the relevant commendations past Silver? If so, that game would earn you no credits. There seems to be a bug where commendations will not increase on games where you try to earn credits after reaching 120K. At least that is the behavior I saw.
Today I went over 120K on a second account, via Custom Challenges. If I played Campaign for under a minute, earning 0 credits, the extra credits weren’t taken away. But the first time I played over a minute and earned credits, my total credits went down in order to make my daily total 120K.
I then noticed that when I played a game for under a minute, appropriate commendations would increase. But if I played for over a minute and earned a few Game Complete credits, my Campaign commendations would not increase.
I’m glad you noticed your commendations were not increasing. Hopefully this strange connection with Commendations will help 343i figure out what is going wrong with the attempted raise of the credit cap.
The only reason I am even playing campaign is cuz FF and MM don’t earn commendations.
All of my Campaign Commendations are onyx. I was just playing that to keep from screaming

I just looked at your commendations. Impressive!
I understand that you won’t gain any more commendation progress from Campaign. I was just curious why you could make Campaign commendation progress, not FF or MP. So I was wondering if you had played for less than a minute (hence not earning any credits) before checking your Campaign commendation progress. Perhaps this behavior will help 343i understand the nature of the error.
I have tried playing for less then one minute and I still earn the commendations. Is that what you are asking?
I just noticed this today, which sucks for me cause I had gotten quiet a bit of vehicle kills in MM…I PMed bs Angel about it so I’m hoping for some kinda response about it at least soon or in the bulletin.

Yes, that was my question. It appears that if you have hit the 120K cap, then you will earn Campaign commendations in games less than one minute. You will have them taken back away if you play over one minute. I imagine it has to do with the fact that after one minute, you earn credits. When your console tries to add those credits to your account on the server, the server sets your credits and your commendations back to what they were at the beginning of the game.
I also Tweeted BS Angel and HaloWaypoint about this, referencing this thread. I’m hoping that knowing this connection with commendations will help 343i fix the problem.
Unfortunately, neither responded to me, to the forum, or to anyone else AFAIK. I don’t understand the wall of silence on this issue. It would be nice to just hear, “Yes, you’re right, there is a problem. Thank you, community, for letting us know. We’re working on a solution.”
Actually I can earn commendations in Campaign after the credit limit regardless of the length of the game. Just an FYI. Thanks for the help.
That’s odd that we’re seeing different behavior with the Campaign commendations. Perhaps it has something to do with your being an Inheritor, but I don’t know what.
Another possibility is that you played a Campaign game long enough that there was a commendation update before you ended the game. I’ve noticed that the console periodically tells the server about commendation updates, before the Campaign game is ended. Perhaps the communication error only occurs when the game is ended and there is an attempt to pay out credits.
Okay so today after I hit the cr limit I decided to do some tests with commendations. While in the campaign there were I was earning commendations but only a percentage of what I should have got.
For example one game that was about 20 minutes I only received 70% of what I should have and in another I only earned about 45%.
PS I done with all my finals lets get this fixed

Your experience of only getting a percentage of the Campaign commendations seems to match my theory that those commendations are coming from periodic updates to the server during the game. Then when you quit the game and the server tries to give you credits, something goes wrong and you don’t earn the credits or commendations after the last periodic update. Or perhaps you get the credits and commendations, then they are immediately taken away.
I would suggest trying a Campaign game that lasts 1:05 where you know you should have gotten at least one commendation. My guess is that you will see no commendation progress.
343i has acknowledged the problem, so hopefully it is fixed soon.

They never said anything about the commendation issue in that link. Do you think them fixing the credit cap will solve the problem. Also I have played games of all game lengths basically and I do receive commendations. Does it have to be exactly 1:05 or could it be less and answer that question?

Since they have given so little information about the problem, we can only hope that the commendation problem is also fixed at the same time. I’m hopeful that there is one cause and hence one solution. But it’s only blind hope on my part.
The game wouldn’t have to be exactly 1:05. Sorry, I just meant slightly over 1 minute. I wanted it to be long enough that you’d earn some credits, but short enough that the console probably wouldn’t update your commendations to the server before the game is over. I don’t know why you’re seeing a different result than me.
