If they didn’t care and didn’t fix the game, people would be upset at them, if they did care and released patches and free content, people blame them that they’re just trying to save face and do damage control and they don’t care. Either way, no matter what they do, they’re still going to be screwed because people will be upset at them. The majority of the work on Halo: MCC was done by 5 other companies and yet 343 still took the blame and everyone forgot or forgave those other companies because 343i’s name was on the box.

Then you shouldnt throw such things in the air to make your arguments stronger.
Of course they are. Just like every big person or company that creates something. They are affecting millions of people with theyre product. And hardly all of these people agree with anything ever. You wont find a famous Youtube video without dislikes. You wont find a celebrity without haters. Thats just basic. Some people like blue and some people like green, no matter what.
But 343i is big enough to deal with that. And what you please should not forget is that money rules the world. And 343i is not a buddy that is sorry for some stupid mistake he/she made. Pretty sure a lot of people at 343i care alot about Halo/us, but in the end its just another company that wants to make money.

I dont say they are “not sorry”. I feel like they arent but thats just my opinion which I am allowed to have.
I meant that they are not just a friend that made a stupid mistake and is like ehh sorry bro.
They are a huge company that plan every decision they make.
I didnt meant to make my argument stronger and claim “343i is not sorry” as a fact.

So they put out one game, on tried and tested servers, which they created directly. The game worked great. Then they put 4 games together, and thought it would work out, released it to mass market, and found bugs. Somehow, them apologizing numerous times and giving out free DLC and Live to compensate for that, spending more time on MCC to fix it, and yet they are slammed at every chance.
Have you ever considered maybe they are trying to be our friends? They all signed on, of free will, to create and further a game which they must love, seeing as they decided to dedicate their livelihood to making it better. Now, every chance they get, the fans of this series are trashing the people who willingly try and create new Halo experiences for us, because they arent the original creator? One decent game, and a bad launch on new hardware, and suddenly they are the plague of the Earth?

Its not an opinion. Its what happened. Populatiom went from roughly 1000 to 5000. A 5x increase is substantial.
We will have to wait and see how many people have fun with h5 mp. If its anything like h4, it wont be many.

Clearly you havent played it, its nothing like Halo 4… Population for BTB was what at that time? Did any other population counts increase? Was there a DLC release at that time? The fact is, any number of factors couldve attributed to a population increase. Unless you have screenshots or images or something of the sort, date stamped and all, which is fairly ridiculous, theres no complete proof that the population of only that playlist exploded

I did play it. It is definitely better than h4 but sprint still causes massive issues and the injection of more old, generic mechanics makes it quite boring.
Obviously I do not have date stamped screenshots lol.
I don’t think 343 cares too much about old school halo players tbh.
or the competitive crowd for that matter.
All they care about is making a game where the casuals will buy it day one, they don’t give a damn about player population once the other casual games come out.
If they cared they would design maps that work specifically for Halo without sprint.
If they cared they would have removed the ADS bs that’s currently in the game now.
If they cared they game would actually have a skill gap like the older halos. I cannot STAND games that have high bullet magnetism and auto aim and that was the major reason why I stopped playing Halo 4.
I believe Josh Holmes stated on tbnet that the reason bullet magnetism was so high in the beta was bc players don’t like it when they miss shots. And at that point I just had to turn my computer off. There was once a time in Halo when if you wanted to stop missing shots you actually got good at the game, the game didn’t hand everything to you.
I may sound slightly hypocritical (since I have made a small contribution to this thread before , and am making another one now), but I’d just like to point out that threads like these are absolute TOXIC.
In all honesty, I’d rather see a dozen non-constructive threads get locked in the time-span of one hour, rather than see one heavily biased thread drag on for days; influencing the creation of similar threads; engulfing them within the same vicious flame wars… that would probably get locked in an hour… oh my…

Meh… Any playlist explodes when it’s put back into rotation. If it lasts for two weeks, by the second week the numbers dwindle. This isn’t anything new and isn’t substantial evidence for your theory that everyone hates sprint and sprint ruins Halo.

Not to mention we dont know if all of a sudden a huge numbers of players came back, or 4000 people only came back to play Legendary slayer

The MLG playlist was never out of rotation. It was a permanent playlist.

And at that point I just had to turn my computer off. There was once a time in Halo when if you wanted to stop missing shots you actually got good at the game, the game didn’t hand everything to you.
I can’t stand listening to Holmes talk about Halo because everything he values is exactly the opposite of what I value, in terms of making a good Halo.
When I listen to him, he sounds like somebody who never understood the appeal of the older games, and never played them beyond a novice level.
That’s how I feel.
Frankie seems to think the only thing that matters is canon. Another huge problem.
Bravo knows what’s up, but has no pull.

Sooo you don’t value a traditional Arena style Halo?

Not entirely.
Like I said before, they have the right idea and are heading the right direction but they are not going all the way.

Traditional arena style halo does not have sprint.

Well it does now and it works fine. Play customs and toggle it off if you’d prefer a more classic experience. Not gonna get into another sprint debate at the moment.
