343 can you please just confirm a classic...

343 do yourself and the forum a huge favor. Just promise us you’ll create a classic playlist. It’s not that hard to do if you have implemented custom options. It would gain you some respect here on the forums from the community and show you care while also not doing anything! Its not announcing anything early really either.

Who else agrees?

We need some information on playlists being supported on launch, but it’s 7 months till release. I wouldn’t expect that info till later, but it’d be nice to have.

Oh yah, we need a classic playlist that will play just like reach… lol

It would at least calm down the forums

Well yeah it would be nice, but I still don’t think pushing a lot of people into one playlist is really calming down the forums.

Why not just play the game the way it was meant to be played?

> Why not just play the game the way it was meant to be played?

Why would you oppose the addition of a classic playlist? It wouldn’t negatively effect anyone.

I agree but at least they would gain some respect from the community who thinks “zOMG they are changing everything”
Which to a certain degree I can understand but we as a community need to be shown we haven’t been forgotten Entirely

Well, it’s a huge change… Changing from Arena to Class-Based isn’t always everyones cup of tea. Giving options to players who like the balance and how Halo use to play isn’t ever a bad thing.

> Why not just play the game the way it was meant to be played?

because the way halo 4 is “meant to be played” is going to suck for people that enjoy starting each match out evenly.

> Why would you oppose the addition of a classic playlist? It wouldn’t negatively effect anyone.

I know it doesn’t, I just find it ridiculous how so many people already refuse to play Halo 4 the way it was made, without actually playing it and coming to a rational conclusion mind you, and demand a playlist just like older Halo games.

I just don’t see the point of catering to people like that.

You understand that playlists can and will be updated right? The amount of customization basically guarantees a classic playlist. However I doubt it’ll get that much love. It won’t be the same no matter how much customization you put into it because of the different weapons, equipments, and vehicles.

because as i said (you may not have seen my post) we enjoy playing games in which people start off on the same completely level ground, and halo 4 is not going to do that.

Not true. Lots of competitive players that liked Halo’s past formula are excited for the changes.

Well, for my case, I just don’t like class-based games. I like people starting evenly so that’s where I draw the line and won’t play default Halo 4 often.

You do realize prematurely stating something WILL happen doesn’t make it true. I mean, can you legitimately prove that statement right now?

you read my post incorrectly. Its ok to be excited for the changes regardless of your gaming history, but many of us prefer to play in matches in which there is no differences in starting abilities.

the fact that customized loadouts are confirmed in which people can choose between different weapons and different abilities. Is that not proof?

It may not be as simple as stripping away the extras from H4 to make a classic playlist. A classic playlist would be nice. But not if it amounts to creating two separate games on one disk. They could simply come out with new maps for h3 for that matter, it would be much simpler. since removing some of the new mechanics may not be feasible.

Well a lot of people don’t like some of the changes made in Halo 4 based off how they effected gameplay in Reach so most likely they wont like them in Halo 4 either, so adding in a classic playlist will cater to some of the more competitive fans and it wont negatively effect the people that like the new additions.
So there wouldn’t be any real resaon for 343 to not try to cater to those fans by creating a classic playlist.
