For I am sick and tired of going against players of my own skill level. I do not deserve to be in Onyx or in Diamond either. So frustrating getting 5 shotted and naded every time. I mean sure I do damage too, but i miss getting 25+ kills in a game.
My good lordy SWAT is just no fun anymore. Every player is literally pro. Nobody misses. 
No idea how I got Diamond, I’m trash in arena. I hate playing try-hards all the time, so I don’t even touch Arena anymore.

this is exactly it. So many people who aren’t on the skill level of onyx or diamond are getting those ranks and then they cant do anything. Whereas players who deserve those ranks are stuck getting low ranks.
Because trying to win is definitely not cool anymore…
Ranking makes zero sense. Friend went 4/10 games with a 1.05 K/D in SWAT, got Onyx. I went 6/10 with a 1.35 K/D, got Platinum 1.

Does the SBMM even do anything? Plat 1 in Team Arena and get against Bronze - Gold frequently.

Funny, I went 4/10 in Slayer and got Platinum 1. I don’t even feel like I really deserve that either, because I was getting thrashed in my playthroughs.

If I’m understanding you right, you’re not complaining that other players are better than you, you’re complaining that you can’t stomp them like you could if you’d been placed in a lower rank? You’re on an equal footing with other players?

Point is, OP isn’t saying that he was ranked with players better than him/her. He/she freely admits they’re at his/her skill level. OP wants to de-rank because they want to dominate players that aren’t as good as they are.
