343, can you let us earn future armor in-game?

I feel this is a simple request, 343. Instead of grinding Arena and Warzone for REQ points to buy REQ Packs or using money to buy REQ Packs for a chance to unlock certain armor permutations, can you perhaps allow future armor additions (and maybe retroactively allow the same for currently available sets), be unlockable through Achievements or other kinds of in-game accomplishments? It was a bit disappointing to not unlock anything after being Halo 5 on Legendary like past games and other games allowed for some sets to be unlocked by accomplishing a set of criteria.

Sure, it’d be more work for people who don’t want to grind or shell out cash, but it’d add a little variety and a sense of accomplishment to Halo 5. I don’t see what it would hurt.

I for one wanted this when I saw there was so much armor. I was certainly disappointed that there was no armor compensation for completing things like some kind of high level commendation, or beating the campaign on assorted difficulties. I feel like that’s something missing from the game, unlocking armor via challenges, not just gambling.

Yes Please. I feel like I have no shot at getting the Locus armor unless I buy $600 worth of gold req packs, and even then I’m not sure. There’s so many emblems and alternate weapons.

I really hope they implement something like what you’re talking about OP.

I honestly never imagined removing something like this would happen in Halo 5, but I it’s a big factor going against the game for me.

It is also confounded by the fact some armor, like Nightfall, was earned by watching Halo: Nightfall, and Helioskrill was available to those who beat every Halo in the MCC on Legendary. I can’t see why those and a few others were exceptions.

Maybe a few sets, but Halo 3 has by far the -Yoink- armor unlock system with all those stupid achievements, half of which you either cheat or grind to get.

Holy crap does Halo 5 have a lot of easter eggs… Finding them is really fun 343, but you’re basically telling me I’m wasting time since there’s no REQs to earn playing Singleplayer.

You’d think tasks like finding all the skulls or all the intel would have been rewarded with emblems like the three skulls or ONI respectively but no, they missed on that one. Even the Legendary Visor at least for completing the story on Legendary would have made sense.

So, Yes, I agree that there should rewards (even if it was cosmetic) for completing hard or time consuming tasks.

Haven’t dug too much into multiplayer yet, but I’m with you all on this. Kind of annoying.

this is why halo 3 worked

their wallet

I feel your pain Halsey, once i finished the campaign on legendary, i joyfully hopped over to the REQ screen to see if i had been given a reward for my effort, only to be disapointed.

You did not need to grind anything and you didn’t have to cheat either, the achievements for Halo 3 weren’t that hard, if you had to cheat to get them then you were just bad at the game.

I totally agree with this even if they just set aside a couple full armor unlocks at key levels in MP (10, 25, 50 etc).

For completing the campaign I think you should get a Campaign REQ pack containing at least one helmet, armor, visor, a stance and an assassination along with a couple emblems and a weapon skin.

Then depending on the difficulty you complete it on you get an additional pack (each containing a pre-set helmet/armor etc).

Normal = Campaign REQ Pack + Normal Armor REQ Pack
Heroic = Campaign REQ Pack + Normal Armor REQ Pack + Heroic Armor REQ Pack
Legendary = Campaign REQ Pack + Normal Armor REQ Pack + Heroic Armor REQ Pack + Legendary Armor REQ Pack

Plus they could give out extra unlocks for doing it Solo or Co-Op.

Their publisher’s mentality is likely that if armor or even emblems were dolled out for achievements such as in previous titles there would be less incentive to buy req packs outright. Which is a poor excuse.

Even in Battlefield 4 where players can buy similar Battlepacks for gear or cosmetic dogtags there are several to be had by completing certain achievements or finding them hidden in the campaign.
