343 bring back the spartan laser!

How many of you agree with me? Wait… nobody? Then why aren’t we talking about the sniper being a near hitscan vehicle deleter?

they may have not added it yet, that’s my best guess

I saw someone get into a Banshee & I just casually shot it down with three shots of a sniper, I felt so bad for the person lol.

I can see the Beta being used to test the new weapons we are seeing and make the appropriate changes, that’s likely why we haven’t seen a lot of the old one’s.

So the point of this thread is to discuss how fragile and inconsequential the vehicles are in this game instead of bringing back the Spartan Laser? This is such clickbait.

The Splaser was a neat weapon but vehicles have a hard enough time surviving in Halo Infinite as it is

To be honest I didn’t think anyone actually liked the laser lol. The skewer is such a better version of it, sorry to have disappointed you. You should make your own post on it c:, I’d be interested to hear what you have to say.

Yep, which is why the sniper needs to be nerfed so it doesn’t 3 shot vehicles. Otherwise why not just have a laser in the game?

Ever since Halo 2 I didn’t like it when Weapons were removed from the pool.

flying the banshee is basically a death sentence, the vehicle balancing is atrocious

Spartan laser > Skewer

If 343 manages to bring the infamous Spartan Laser into this game, then it needs to be properly balanced. It being able to easily one-shot most vehicles across the map with no risk whatsoever is quite overpowered (and probably why many players despite it so much) and this can easily be mitigated by adding some heavy vertical recoil (like the Selene’s Lance in Halo 5) or severe damage drop-off at distance.

On the other hand, I think the light vehicles in this game are too weak; highly susceptible to small arms fire. I know players have been complaining about that since Halo: Reach and the vehicles in general arguably have continually gotten worse throughout the later games.

Spartan Lazer would be a great addition! How about we bring back laser and remove the 14 other pointless weapons lol.

I think the reason the Spartan Laser isn’t in Infinite is because of vehicle and vehicle destroyer balance. ShreddedNerd talked about it in their video titled “How Halo: Infinite Solves an Age Old Halo Problem”

I would link it but links aren’t allowed.

But basically the Spartan Laser has a habit of just deleting vehicles, which means if it ever did make a return, it would probably be nerfed to oblivion because this time around vehicles are already kind of weak in their armor/health.

It might be unpopular opinion, but the spartan laser is one of the worst things to ever happen to the Halo sandbox.

That said, I’d still love it for custom games.

Exactly why the sniper should be nerfed.

I actually agree with you 100%, I mean sure there are some weapons that I may think are worse, but the Spartan laser being replaced by the skewer makes me pretty happy. Still, I think the sniper somewhat becoming the Spartan laser is ruining the game.

Against vehicles? I mean, if you’re committing 3 bullets to a vehicle to kill one person, then you’re kind of nerfing yourself since you don’t get a lot of ammo and you’ll likely lose it.

The Spartan Laser isn’t a necessity and if a Sniper can bring it down in 3 shots, then so be it.

This is what I’m talking about though, the sniper has essentially become a Spartan laser. If you don’t like the laser then you shouldn’t like the sniper the way it is. Why should we encourage a near hitscan vehicle killer? It’s not all too much of a commitment to spend 3 sniper bullets on killing a warthog or any other vehicle. I mean think about it, 3 shots on a warthog = 2 kills (3 in some cases), not that much of a negative trade off right?

Not really, because people are more inclined to use the sniper against people than vehicles. Also, the sniper has been able to fight against vehicles since Halo: Reach.

I just don’t feel like the Sniper needs an anti-vehicle nerf just because on the surface you feel it’s overpowered that a rifle that shoots pretty large bullets that are sometimes even stronger than you think depending on the ammunition type, can tear into a vehicle. We only have a few vehicle maps anyway, the nerf would be kind of pointless.

Just my opinion.
