343 are too divisive...

Whether you agree that sprint makes halo better or not, or if you prefer the new art style over the old one you have to ask yourself, why put in such massively divisive features?

No one asked for a new art style yet 343 created one and all it did was cause a massive split in the community.
Halo never had sprint before reach and bungie adding it in was a stupid divisive move which ultimately was not necessary and 343 not removing just causes further division.
No one asked for ADS yet we have it and now people are more divided.
No one asked for microtranactions yet they put them in and guess what? The community is more divided.
No one asked for spartan charge, less armour customisation, removal of split screen, no emblem customisation, important content being shipped months after the game is released (infection, forge, btb etc) yet 343 did it, and the community is MORE divided.

Bottom line is this. It doesn’t matter what you prefer. If a new feature is going to cause a HUGE split in the community then that feature is not worth having. You should stick to what has worked for halo in the past and build on that formula, you don’t reinvent it. By reinventing it all you are going to do is bring in new players while completely alienating your old ones.

No i think most the division occurs between people stuck in the old guard (HALO 3!!!) and the new guard (COD…whatever else)

What has always worked doesn’t always work…times change, so do games (going with current trends). People need to deal with that, like it or not.

I can see 343 being successful both ways.

But this change is not working. Sales are lower then previous halo’s. Ratings are lower, populations are lower (not even breaking top 5 on most played xbox games), and all in all the community is completely divided because of it.

Besides, halo has had sprint, a new art style, new music, and abilities since 2012, that’s 4 years. By keeping these features you are refusing to change and evolve.

It might not be working in your opinion…some people might love it. That is something 343 will have to decide going forward. I loathe Spartan Charge to the max extent. I think there are many things that could be tweaked. You just have to realize that gaming companies go with what is the trends…unfortunately for us it was COD. Had Halo kept on a steady plain things might be different, or what would be different if Battlefield was top dog? It is all trend based. All we can do is give positive criticisms and feedback and hope they listen. Unfortunately some good criticism is marred in the way it is presented and is probably overlooked because when you add YOU SUCK, YOU KILLED IT, you know the drill if you watch these forums.

We all hope for the best and the right changes but not everyone will ever be happy with it.

343 don’t need to do only what we ask for they to do.
They are a video game studio, they are competing with a large market of FPS games. They need to do new things and move on, simple as that.
So, Halo 5 needs to be fun and modern and have the same feeling as the old games, and in my opinion the game did that. It attracts new and old players.

Maybe because the older Halos were riding on the success of the previous 2 Halos while Halo 5 has to deal with Halo 4 and Halo MCC’s catastrophes.

Seriously, the community used to be divided because people wanted Halo 5 to be BR starts

343 need to respect the past and the fans need to be more open to meaningful change that’s it really.

I’ve enjoyed the current Halo, refreshed the series in my eyes.
