Yes, you can do monetization right though thats the issue, this store is a mess and everyday they ignore it, hell theyve even updated it to show more content then at launch so we know they can change it, its easy enough to do they dont even need an update for it.
Halo 5 monetized armour but you could still earn it all for free, the spending part came from players circumventing the grind for req packs, infinite needs a system that rewards gameplay, not spending. Spending should only happen because you WANT to spend, not because its your only option
And I agree with you there! However not a fan of lootboxes as they are predatory for creating gambling addictions.
Oh for sure no one wants lootboxes back, but battlepasses and Fortnite stores need to go too.
We need an ingame catalog of all the armour thats been released, keep some stuff locked until it rotates to the store but then unlock it for purchase through the catalog, allow people to buy individually, dish out credits from the battlepass or from xo and challenges, funnily enough i dont know how this system wouldnt make them more money, they seem to only want whales spending when everyone should be, helmets at like 2.50$ and shoulders at 1.50$, bundles should offer a deal on large amounts of items and bot be the only purchase method, tho people can buy the bundle to get said new armour early before its in the catalog.
Theres just so much 343 could do, and that i hope they do, to fix this game
Why would they release a game to lose money? They have to make money off the game or they won’t support the game
I think a lot of companies learned from the mistakes of EA breaking the law with their micro transactions. How does 343’s micro transactions even compare to what EA has done in the past? This thread make 0 sense to me
I just want my ODST helmet, but I can’t get it unless I pay up, and i’m not doing that. I’ll wait until it becomes free to unlock or a special set of ODST gear such as the Rookie’s armor from H3 ODST, the ODST gear from H2, the ODST gear you have in Halo Fireteam Raven, or Buck’s H5 armor gets made for an event.
okay so how is infinte’'s store that has only armor and coatings and weapon models the same a any EA store?
the answer is simple: they aren’t EA locked gameplay behind their stores and mind you got into major legal trouble iwht their loot boxes
here its just cosmetic now shoaled there be more ways to get this absolutely but is it EA level of greed? hell ducking no it isn’t
Its about on par with the greed that EA puts out there.
Theyve ripped a feature everyone loves, made it better, but then locked it behind a paywall and arbitrary armour restrictions so that way you have to rebuy colours or attachments for your spartan at prices that reach almost half the cost of the game while also charging for the single player on top of that and the battlepass, then tried to gaslight the community by saying that this funds the servers and this is a business and we are hurting their feels, even though microsoft owns an entire company that focuses solely on running servers for their games that has its own cash flow system already in place, the same servers the game is running off of, while marketing the game as player first and almost outright lying about the customization players would have on day 1 and how “most of out content is earned by playing the game and only by playing the game”
Everything about this system screams EA corporate greed
do you see gameplay locked behind a store? or loot boxes? I dont
I’d be willing to bet that very very few actually only just play multiplayer if they are a recurring player. Its not call of duty. You can’t see the stats right now apparently, but campaign is #1 on steam right now.
I thought the numbers for Steam had dropped? Can you source it please? Do those numbers show specifically for just the campaign?
I really hope that’s the case anyways
This is wildly and demonstrably false. I don’t know where you dreamed this up, but you couldn’t possibly be more incorrect. A price tag is absolutely a deterrent. Goofballs who just want a few laughs are less likely to risk their account if they’ll have to shell out more money after being banned. Slightly more serious hackers aren’t going to want to waste money buying a game over and over just to keep cheating. And high-level cheaters with some throwaway money are always going to cheat no matter what but that’s just one part of the cheating population as I’ve just gone over.
Yeah Its incredible actually. I see on the steam store Halo infinite is number 1.

Also go to steam store and look at the top sellers. I can’t see how many people bought it but I can see that there’s a peak of 99,700 players on multiplayer today. Not trying to prove a point anymore but most Halo players are the old school guys that grew up on. They play campaign just as much as multiplayer.
Wow that’s really good. That’s exactly what we needed more eyes on the story for Halo.
Naw you’re fine. It happens. The important thing is we are coming from the same place. Wanting to see a beloved game become better. Different in opinions happen, heated conversations happen. We good fam.
In CSGO
Where Valve incorporated a community based investigation system to educated players and identify cheaters.
When it cost $7-30 to play and still attracted hundreds of thousands of players making it the top played game on Steam.
Hacking/cheating/exploiting has been around well before internet gaming existed.
In a time when the only way to play games was to purchase them, and now where it varies.
Oh you mean a game where it’s possible to make money through playing. Nice example. You also haven’t disproven me either. As I stated, there will always be cheaters anywhere that cheating is possible, but having a cost to being caught is always going to deter a portion of them.
Microtransactions are expected it’s the quality not matching the price, that bothers me. And the double dipping.
20 bucks for default basic items…
People really paid for the color red… Twice if they bought it for the reach armor.
And they tried to sell us Cadet Blue for the Yoroi Armor.
Seriously look at them side by side it’s the same thing. One was free for one core but they locked it behind a paywall for another one.
And the contents of the free event BP are disrespectful to us. 50% is just challenge swaps and XP boost. 40% of it is just the same emblem/coating, than we get a armor peice and visor .maybe an attachment.
I would hold off on purchases until the next season, just in case the release a new Armor core and none of your current purchase transfer to that one.
that wont stop them either cheating happens no matter what is in front of them like at all
Didn’t they already do that with Halo 5? Weren’t Req packs basically loot boxes which contained gameplay content which were available to buy in mass? Pretty sure they would still have them if there wasn’t the big backlash.
