Idk how many of you have played Grand turismo. But mostly every weekend they hold online racing tournaments, They allow 500 or so racers to sign up and have 12 racers in each race. The top 3 racers get points. And over a few months all of the top racers with the most points compete in an online race. Its usually about 120 racers, again 12 racers to a race. Eventually it narrows down to the top 12. They square off for a cash prize. I have seen a couple for $1000 ( my brother competes in them).
Now what if 343 could also hold weekend tournaments. Every weekend with different settings to keep everyone involved and wanting to come back for more. Allow so many teams to sign up and over the course of the weekend teams battle and then on Sunday have the top so many teams play for a cash prize. The only way this would really work is if there is a spectator mode and preferably a host by 343.
Not all tournaments need to be for a cash prize. Maybe some weekends are just for Spartan points or for pieces of gear like the flaming helmets from Reach. This could also be streamed by 343 and i feel it would pull in a lot of spectators.
If anyone else has some ideas please post them. I am open to all ideas.

I wouldn’t mind it being for a ranked playlist but i would rather see it as a whole other section.
Under Ranked and un ranked would be a Tournament section that is only open when they have them. Its not like arena in any way its just bracket play or however they want it to be.

I don’t want plastic rewards, and I don’t really care for this idea. What OP is saying is easy to implement and many players would utilize it. I think it could be a hit within the community.

The winner for the highest division could get something else that’s not virtual, but it’s Moneysoft
I dont want anyone to be put into divisions, like in Arena. Just tournament style. A team of 4 signs up, they get put into brackets, Win you keep going or loos and you are done or go into a looser bracket
For FFA tournaments brackets of 8 players top 3 or 4 advance to next round. Losers are done.
But if they want to have a longer multiple weekend tourny, then they could use a point system. 10 for 1st, 8 for 2nd and so on. Then over the course of a few weeks top 20 teams with the most points get divided into a bracket.

I don’t really dislike your idea, the only thing I don’t like is it being separated by divisions. I think it should just be some type of open tournament every weekend (with whatever gametype and settings) with no restrictions.

But if one player had to get off, then you couldn’t play and it would stagger the whole bracket

No. You would either loose your match and the other team would advance or maybe they could set it up so you can sign up 5 people and have 1 as a sub.
> But if one player had to get off, then you couldn’t play and it would stagger the whole bracket
Showing up and playing is the responsibility of the player, given to them once they sign up for a tournament. If you can’t play, you get disqualified. Your opponent advances.
Also, it wouldn’t just have to be team tournaments. They could have many different types of FFA tourneys as well.

Exactly.
And they could also Hold FFA, Snipers, Swat, Classic, MLG or Hardcore, Doubles, and some others
And there doesnt just have to be 1 tournament a week there could be multiple
Yes please. They should have more “events” for MM in general, as in the glorious return of Double EXP weekends. Living Dead and Griffball aren’t as fun as they used to be because they are always available.
