As much as I enjoy the competitive nature of this game, sometimes you need a break from being a total try hard. I’m tired of constantly being matched up against full teams in every playlist and getting completely destroyed. There is little to no incentive to play this game solo anymore.
Party restrictions haven’t been around since Halo 3, but I think they’d really balance out the game play. If your in a party that makes up a majority of the team than you’ll be matched against people in another party.
I think 343 tried way too hard to make sure this game wasn’t Halo 4. Instead of appealing to casuals and ignoring the competitive, they completely latched on to the competitive scene and alienated casual players. While I think they’ve noticed this and are trying to add more casual elements to the game, I think they’re too late. All the casuals are gone and they’re just left with the über try hards.

You do know that social gamemodes are the exact same as ranked, complete with stat tracking and ranking system (they just hide it. Look at my profile, I actually have a platinum rank in Grifball.) Warzone is where going up against a premade team hurts the most.

‘The population is so low’
Where the hell are you getting this from. Im 100% sure the Halo population is doing perfectly well. Nowadays its a bit harder to keep hold of so many players. There are just so many great games to play on all Platforms, we are spoilt for choice. I play PC and Xbox.

That has just made me “wow” at the incompetence of 343i.

A playlist is only social or not if you think of it as such. If you don’t care about a playlist (war zone etc) then you don’t care and then it’s not competetive, win/lose is doesn’t matter.
What I think you’re really asking for is a playlist where 343 deliberately create mis-matches in your favour so you can still win without really trying. But then that game is not social for the losing team and they then come here to create a thread complaining the game is too hard (competetive) and the complaint spiral will continue downwards.
i played a lot of fiesta this week, mainly to use some weapons I still need commendations for. It seemed pretty damn uncompetetive and social to me.
EDIT: also, what will you do if they remove all hidden ranks from social playlists and you get matched against champions and lose? Will you then come back here to make a thread asking for hidden ranks?
yea whenever i dont feel like going try hard, usually when ever im on and no one else is on that i wanna play with, i just play a few games of grifball and try and get to 100 kills.

You need to think before you type. The pop is low. Many threads on trying to play BTB and it can’t find enough players. The continual decline on XBL most played for week. The fact they won’t say anything about the Pop and then lie out right about player retention. God I hate uninformed and gullible people.

This is exactly what I’m trying to tell anyone who does a thread like this. Social playlists still have competitive players that will destroy people who are lower rank than them. Fiesta at the moment is a perfect example of this, I’ve had consistently positive k/d (finally recovering. From the release 0.8 k/d I’ve been stuck with) and I see people who have 1-14 , ranked playlists would eliminate those scrubs and I’d end up middle of the team again
As a part of a company that gets destroyed by other fireteams of the same number I have to say that this is not a good idea or all the solo people are just going to have fireteam blocking up and that leaves the other fireteams to fight eachother and then also get destroyed just like solo people because they will be fighting the same sweatys that most people are associating with as all fireteams

Why did everyone go off topic?
Anyways, yes, we need party restrictions. For a game that’s competitive, what’s the point of matching full teams to randoms?
