32 players?

343i has yet to impress halo fans with any of their releases. They have obviously gone for the bare minimum and have even admitted to failing the community on multiple occasions. The primary cause of this failure is the lack of innovation we have seen in Bungie-made Halos. Halo has a reputation for including amazing gaming aspects that no one sees coming. As a result, 343i should utilize the higher processing power of the One to allow for higher numbers of people per game. Any halo reach game with 16 players already feel swelled, but a large map with 32 players? Revolutionary. Though battlefield has already beaten 343i to the punch, increasing the player cap in Halo 5 would create the game that fans have been wanting for years. Clan support in Halo 5 and significantly better forge options would vastly improve gameplay as well. Up until Halo 4, Halo games improved upon each other my adding more content than their precursors. With the enhanced ability of the Xbox One, there is no longer an excuse to continue such piss poor work. A lack of innovation is what continues to kill Halo, and Halo 5 will most likely determine the lifespan of the series, so we ask 343i to simply let go. We want those crazy, impossibly fun concepts to come to life, not some singular path but an open sandbox game like the other Halos. The ADS and parkour are brilliant additions but they remain copy pastes, we need something new and flexible. Restricting Halo’s possibilities will end the series. Halo 5 is already doubted by a vast majority of the community, don’t perpetuate the stereotype that 343i will doom Halo. Instead, blow the lid off of previous titles and prove all the critiques wrong. Stop saying you’re going to innovate and actually do it. You have all the necessary tools, failure to amaze is your fault alone. Don’t let Halo die with this game. Realize that Halo is an art, not some linear eSport shooter like COD.

Or instead of everybody calling for 16vs16 why not ask for a small increase to 10vs10 or 12vs12. That would be in itself a huge change from 8 players per team and wouldnt be extremely drastic to where they had to make maps bigger to compensate

Or both, have 10vs10 to 12vs12 be the new BTB and have 16vs16 or higher be Super BTB. Slightly increase the size of Coagulation and that would be a perfect map for 16vs16 matches.

My thoughts exactly

Or a 32 free for all in adrift, rocket starts haha for firework lovers only.

But seriously, even an increase to 9x9 would make people flip

12v12 would be as much as I’d be willing to go. It’s Halo, not Battlefield. 12v12 on an enlarged Headlong would be insanely amazing though. Or on an enlarged Blood Gulch.

Halo is an arena game. What about this do people not understand? The gameplay is not intended for massive battles on massive maps and never was.

You do know there has been ONE Halo map that could potentially support 32 players, right? But it’s not even a map, really…

Forge World.

32 players would definitely be something Halo could take advantage of. The best part is that it’s not Battlefield unless you make it Battlefield. I love Battlefield for what it is, but Halo doesn’t need to have 32 player rush/conquest games, and I wouldn’t want that. How about Invasion but where both teams have either a Phantom or a Pelican? How about instead of capturing a power core, you have to destroy a Scarab. And the Elites can drive that Scarab. Just some ideas I had on another thread

I would gladly take 10v10.

10v10 or 12v12 is the highest I would go. Either one of the two, not both. And really I think Halo 5 looks promising. From the 7 hours of in-game time I played of the beta; there were very minor and fixable bugs, but the overall experience seemed great. And it would be great if you could break your paragraph into multiple ones also.

Uh have you all not played the H5 beta?!? Those maps would have no trouble fitting 32 players but since 343 like to take classic maps & stretch them I’d not be surprised if a bigger blood gulch is already in the works. Besides; halo population can’t support games that large, better just stick with 4v4 so we at least get a game.

Well why couldn’t the population support a game that large?

16v16 + a bunch of AI on the field all set to legendary difficulty.

Edit: Nay, mythic difficulty, all skulls on difficult.

That would only work on certain maps. Halo is an arena based multi player shooter. So it should not go the Battlefield route and let BF be BF and let Halo be Halo. 10v10 would be the maximum for even the largest maps in Halo, except for infinity in Halo C.E.

i would love 16v16.

the reason for this is simple.
big team multiteam 8v8v8v8

Yes, Halo is an arena game. Which it will stay in most game modes, it will keep the 4v4 perfection. but there are maps that even 8v8 feel so big and i can never find anyone except with a sniper, so i feel like for Big Team and BIG TEAM ONLY they should increase it to at least 12v12, but 16v16 would be really fun and could also bring in new players to the Halo Universe, such as the Battlefielld players. My two favorite shooters are Halo and Battlefield, it would be nice to bring bigger more intense and vehicle battles. Again though, just for Big Team, keep everything else 4v4.
