32 Player Cap using Dedicated Servers

Dedicated servers would provide much less lag, and would allow 32 Players and and a new level of BTB. Or we could call it Huge Team Battle(HTB) .

32 Players can add alot to genocide games like BTB or Infection. We could have bigger maps, and we’d have a good reason for Pelicans and Phantoms.

Wouldn’t count on it. Halo games usually do a good job or smoothing over lag. Gears 3 has dedicated servers because the Unreal Engine has no answer for bullet lag. It was in Gears 1 and 2 and the RB6 Vegas games.

As for 32 players in Halo; not sure how it would go. I think the needs of a game for 32 players would be too different from the needs of a game for 4v4. I would rather then nail down what has always been Halo’s sweet spot. 8 to 10 total players.

I see no reason. Waste of disk space.

I’d rather see them test out 24 players. Both for lag issues and gameplay balance.

i think it is a good idea…but wouldnt count on it

Even if dedicated server’s are used i really dont think 32 player’s is possible due to hardware limitations, next gen maybe but current gen i really doubt it.

It’s all about the connection.

while this would be awesome, it most likely wont happen

Microsoft wont give halo 4 dedicated servers because they are ‘too expensive’

i would be happy if they just gave dedicated and kept the normal player caps, it would make the game much more fun and much more competitive

ooooh yea forgot bout that

Microsoft is one of the largest companies out there, and they spent money on GoW3’s dedicated servers. Tiny games like Section 8 can afford dedicated servers. Halo is Microsoft’s crown jewel, I’m sure they’ll shell out some money to make the game experience better.

considering bungie had a contract with microsoft and they didnt have dedicated on any of their games, i doubt halo 4 will be given dedicated

i think, if ANY online game involves bullets having to register, it should have dedicated servers

32 and all that would be good but please, gimme some dedicated servers

You OP make the same topic every week about dedicated servers. Let’s think for a second, Halo 4 has been in development for years. It is soon reaching it’s release date. The campaign is basically wrapped up as far as design goes and multiplayer will soon come down to fixing some bugs. Halo 4 will not have dedicated servers. Why do we need them? I am perfectly content with an 8 vs 8. Especially with maps we are given. With 32 players we would need bigger maps. Big maps= Bad Halo gameplay.

I think 10 vs 10 would be the max. Halo is already pretty chaotic in btb with 8v8.

16 on 16 would demand much larger maps and it just wouldnt be halo imo.

Do not want. 32 players would require its own separate set of huge maps that would be close to unplayable with a mere 16 players and absolutely unplayable with anything less. Halo doesn’t need that.

this … 32 is too much on the 360 and will cause cut of Forge and other things from the game

16v16 is a HTB to mem 32 is too much 16v16 is halo in a way

forget whay i just said before 10v10 is batter

forget what I just said before 10v10 is batter

If you go to Games on Halo Waypoint and click on Halo 4 it says 8-16 players online so idk about Huge Team battle, but sounds pretty epic.
