Ok, there were 32 people in Super Slayer this morning. Why did we keep this and give up Action Sack? Would it have killed them to at least put the action sack game types in other lists?

I still wonder why they kept this and dropped Anniversary BTB when the latter had a couple hundred people constantly playing it. I mean I know they’re limited on money so they can’t run too many playlists as I imagine it probably runs up the electricity bill and needs more servers but for the love of God, drop the unpopular playlists and keep the popular ones.
Personally I think they’re purposely trying to kill Reach, and it’s working, me and my guys are playing BF3 more and more often.

They killed Reach for me a long time ago. NEP and the loss of FF Doubles were the final nails in the coffin. Then I get quit banned again this morning because people are STILL AFKing firefight. Well, maybe I’ll AFK matchmaking a bit just to give back to the community that’s been so good to me the past 2 years. I had to put up with these tards in Firefight that refuse to actually play the game while I earned my 8000 perfections to max the commendation, and 343gie did nothing to properly handle it. Anyone who whines about AFKers in matchmaking, cry a little harder cause I’m joining the club whenever I don’t get the gametype I want.
When you say “this morning,” what time zone are you basing this off?
That playlist has always been one of the most unpopular. It’s obvious that it should have gone with the consolidation update.
It’s difficult then to choose which playlist should have survived. I was a big fan of action sack, but keeping it and not the others wouldn’t be fair regarding fans of the others.
They should propose a poll… But, as they said, their won’t be any modification of that awful August update.
Super Slayer serves as 343’s most obvious implicit declaration that what 343 itself wants to see on the playlist means more than what the community (i.e. the people that actually play the game) wants to see on the playlist. In an intriguing bit of recursive logic, the fact that they never directly comment on these issues (not even on NeoGAF!) buoys the original implicit declaration with the additional implicit declaration that 343 does not especially care about the community’s wants, preferring to didact and disappear rather than to acknowledge and adapt.
In the end, I suppose that the company whose name consists of only numbers sees its clientele as only numbers (with dollar signs, ideally) makes sense.
They kept Super Slayer because they promised that there’d be a TU’d version of Team Slayer. Despite there being lots of other, preferable TU’d playlists.
Very unfortunate.

Uh, you do realize that 2 hours ago was 8am CST, 9am ET, and 6am PST? On a school day? And a work day? Early in the morning? Of course not many people are playing it. Competitive players have lives to tend to at those hours. Like work, kids, or school. Or even sleeping in.

eastern. It’s rather disturbing there were only 189 in Multi-Team as well. Couldn’t even find a match. Definitely counting down the days until Halo 4, despite expecting it to suck anyway. Gotta find out.

So, you’re wondering why numbers were low when 3/4’s of the US was still asleep?

And the EU at work/school.

Exactly why 343i did what they did with the August update. The actual quality of Halo 4 aside (seeing as none of us will know either way until November), making the sale is 343i’s priority.

I agree, i have a feeling that halo 4 will be bigger than reach ever was.
Reach’s days are numbered and I honestly can’t stand playing the game after watching so much Halo 4 footage.
A month ago I would have still wanted a Squad Battle playlist, but even I wouldn’t play that anymore. That’s not to say it’s too late to put such a playlist in. At least it would give me something to do for the 300,000 cR I need to rank up from Nova.
Your numbers need a recheck. I don’t support SS’s existence. But you sure picked a hell of a bad time to check that number. Try Saturday afternoon, I think you get the full scope there.
Maybe that number’s a little low, but the highest I’ve ever seen Super Slayer is 300 people. Anniversary BTB had at least triple that on average (If you want to see my posts against the update, just look at my thanks history).
There’s no need for two 4v4 regular Slayer playlists, even if SS is TU and TS is not. In my opinion, the TU should have been across every playlist, and with the TU in the gametype names omitted.
…Man, I wish I had played Squad Slayer now.
Right now
SS=547
TS=7727

I really don’t get why 343 can’t just replace Super Slayer with something else?
Admit that the forumites were a minority of a minority, and that their preferred playlist just isn’t popular enough compared to others, and give it the axe.

It should be a TUed squad slayer, that would have a huge draw as compared to Super Slayer.
