That’s very very very sad.
Eh, different people like different things.
Very true. I won’t attempt to patronise you in any way as I don’t know you or anything about your life, so my only word of advise is to try to focus less on trivial things like game achievements…trust me, it will be like a weight lifted off your shoulders if you let yourself be free of such constraints in gaming or life, and you will be able to enjoy playing games for fun or enjoy and appreciate other aspects of your life more. Just trying to be constructive so no offence intended.

Fair enough.

Hit Level 100 last night, still having a blast. Sad to see you’re not…
Oh well, back to the fun!
If the game is really that bad just buy the 30 levels for the achievement. I would rather spend $40 than waste countless hours on a game I hate
Can’t bring myself to do it. I refuse to give a cent to 343’s monetization scheme.
But you’re giving them your time and energy. That’s an even bigger W for 343. Just take the loss on $30 and move on
Hate’s a pretty strong word. There have been points in certain games that I really hated (probably some ridiculous timed level or mission), but I’ve never hated a game entirely. If there were, I definitely wouldn’t play it to get all the achievements
Oh I know exactly what you mean. Doing a nightmare run od Doom, and I hate certain parts, not the game itself. However i feel OPs vibe is he hates this game.
I don’t hate the game. I hate its execution.
It’s incomplete and unstable. Not what should be expected of a AAA, flagship title with a half-billion dollar budget.
Im being genuinely curious with this question. When you buy/play a game thats primarily known for its pvp shooting and IS a FPS game, weather its an arena shooter like Halo, a team shooter like COD/rainbow six, or a battle royal like Apex/pubg. Is the main content you buy/play it for the seasonal progression and cosmetics? or do you buy and play them for what the game is designed for the FPS gameplay?
I know cosmetics are a thing. and yes they are cool. I myself want more and a better store system. But i didnt play/buy halo infinite or any of the past halos CE-5, or ANY shooter for the seasonal progression. I buy/play them for the PVP and the area or matches. Replayability isint thru customization and unlocks only. Thats a bonus, my replayability is thru getting better at the game and rising in rank. And to be honest that should be the primary focus of any first person shooter pvp game. The rest is added bonus. I think loot boxes and seasonal progression ruined peoples perception on what games are actually about.
Great question!
Beyond achievement hunting (which i only do for certain games and franchises), I just play for the joy and challenge of playing. I play shooters almost exclusively, so online matchmaking allows me to continue to play games LONG after I’ve completed the campaign and unlocked every achievement.
I couldn’t care less about cosmetics, ranks, or progression. I was playing video games long before these things existed, and never really cared for them once they came onto the scene. I just like good and challenging gameplay.
Infinite’s fundamentals are there, but the game is just too incomplete and unstable right now for me to be able to enjoy it.
Im not thrilled about how they implemented the season, and it could use a lot of work. But for me completing the 100 in season is just a thing that happens. So i agree, its about the gameplay. So even after getting my 100 i still have a lot to do in arena. As i feel i have a lot i can still improve on skill wise in game.
But i also agree the game could use some work. like, more stable servers with better hit detection, more game modes ranked and unranked, more maps, a cross play on/off option, collision, and stats. Those will be the changes i hope to see and would be more likely to determine if i kept playing or not. The store, cosmetics, and seasons are things id like to see improved but arent as an important factor.
hopefully they at least get the important stuff fixed. Infinite, to me, has more potential than 4 & 5 and has more of the classic feel that has been missing.
I remember those times…
