And they are still delaying stuff in updates to work on them more?
Like… I’m sorry but what are they doing over there? Are they just constantly having issues or something???
I’m hoping that whatever was in that Hog Wild update is some really good stuff. Really good stuff.
Apparently we are getting a new Forge Canvas and some other things, and I’m really hoping for more than just the Race gamemode. And maybe that File Browser too? I don’t know man.
But almost all of this stuff has been done in previous Halo games, why is it taking 343 so long to do what has already been done before??? It’s a legitimate question. I’m not hating here, I’m not calling 343 any names, so don’t get all defensive, I just seriously want to know, why does it take them so long to do things?!
I just don’t get it. 3 Years and 8 months of development.
Remember that.
Because when they rush things to get them out and they don’t work, people complain even more. MCC notwithstanding, they’ve actually got a relatively good track record on reacting to player feedback. Every Halo 5 update brings some kind of feedback improvement.
And Halo 5 had a big technical overhaul compared to last gen. Part of the reason we had so few gametypes etc was because the engine was changed to the point that older gametypes couldn’t be easily ported over. The 360 for all intents and purposes was just a better Xbox. The Xbox One’s reliance on cloud architecture and similar new features meant they had to rework a lot of stuff.

How is Oddball or KotH harder to bring than CTF and Strongholds?

My problem with this is, we now have game types available in the game and they still choose to not make play lists(not weekend or weekly) that use them and instead they are only available in Customs.

This has been debated because if you have to many playlist then each playlist might take longer to play a game since the population is supposedly super low. Idk. I think they could have the actuon sack so you only add one playlist but it has all objective games in it. Husky raid

Not so much a case of difficulty as much as resource allocation.

That’s a matter of population management. Halo simply doesn’t have the population to support lots of playlists anymore.
That sad, I think they should do a Team Battle playlist that’s unranked and basically has a grab bag of social variants: slayer, ctf, strongholds and the various ball gametypes. Then Team Arena can be all tournament settings.
They delay things because they were already finished at launch and are withholding it for our money to milk us sheeple and this is all a part of their plot.
On a serious note, have you ever developed anything? Anything that takes time to develop?

Maybe that’s why they should’ve made at least 3/4 of this “FREE DLC” available right from launch and maybe Halo 5 wouldn’t have a low population right now.
They had the chance to save Halo, but they mucked it up.
From what I heard, many playlists didn’t make it sooner, because the gametypes couldn’t be ported over easily since it’s a new engine.
Have you ever had a job before?
Do you know what goes into software development?

Yes I have, for your information.
But that is irrelevant, and I already knew I would get a comment like this.
“Game development is hard,” right? For us, probably, yes.
But this is their jobs. Their profession. They do this for a living, and not only on top of all this, it’s not like they are designing an entirely new franchise with new ideas. It’s taking them this long to simply re-add everything that has been in the most recent couple of Halo games? Really?
The whole “Game development is hard” excuse would’ve actually held some accountability if we were like 3 months after launch, but 8 months?
This is just getting too ridiculous at this point.

It’s not a new engine.

Basic multiplayer modes that were in Halo: CE might I add.

Nobody is saying it’s hard as a blanket excuse. Anybody that’s developed something remotely complex knows delays happen. More often than not.
Further evidence I doubt you’ve experienced any complex development in your life: you keep bringing up that the game has been out 8 months, why are there still delays…maybe they began development on things being currently delayed after that moment 8 months ago? Maybe it’s something new? Because, ya know, development isn’t one giant ball of production just rolling down the assembly line. It’s countless little projects being started and stopped as time progresses.

Yes.
Development takes time. 30 day updates was a very aggressive time line. You can keep spinning things about engines, should have been here at launch, they are not working on anything else, blah blah blah. But that is not reality. Reality is what you get, when you get it.

Just cause it’s ones job does not make the job super easy. (A little off but same concept) scientist can spend years figuring something out yet we don’t ask them why did it take you so long this is your job right.
Point really is yea it’s their job but the job is not easy all the time

I have worked on stuff complex, and I could honestly care less if you believed me or not, and OBVIOUSLY I haven’t worked on something on a scale of a Triple A game. Smh.
There is still zero excuses.
You can say whatever you wan’t, and I would actually believe what you’re saying if they were actually developing NEW content, but they are just completing the game. Can’t you understand that?
That’s all this is. This Free DLC is them completing the game, because somehow, in Halo 5’s first 3 years of base development, they couldn’t even find the time to implement something as bare bones as King of the Hill at launch? Not even a single 1 Bomb/Flag gametype? We still don’t even have a random weapon’s option in custom games yet!
Again, I could understand if something came up if it were 3 to 4 month’s after launch, but the fact that they are having this much trouble just simply adding things that were in Halo: CE on the original Xbox is just mind boggling.

I’m sorry, but that was one of the worst comparisons I have ever seen. Scientists have the job of discovering the complete unknown in the universe. That is completely different from a game company who has already done certain things in the past, and is somehow now having issues doing things they have already done.
