> VS 3x Anders you need to anticipate warthogs the second you see that leader combo. Arby should be trying to catch the hogs as the make their way to your side of the map. Each player on your team needs to build a turret or 2 right away, and then you need to have units defending said turrets when they attack. Defend with something like Arby, hogs and wraiths. Then your team needs to transition to tanks, tanks and banshees IMO. Arby needs to mostly play offense and limit Anders from expanding.

> @26:50 you upgraded fiendish too quick. need more economy
> @27:20 you don’t even attempt to rage blue hogs? That’s like playing Halo FPS and not firing your BR at enemies: why wouldn’t you?
> @29:00 they are clearly going for your base, but nobody defends your turret with units, to make the turrets last longer. Recall and force their D-bomb and force them to shoot arby rather than you base IMO. And you didn’t upgrade to citadel which makes the base stronger, and last longer.

> VS 3x Brute everyone should double base and the 2 UNSC need to build hogs. As a rule of thumb, if the other team is Covy heavy, they can’t stop hogs because they are too mobile versus hunters, and beat banshees 1v1. You must get to the chieftains bases before they release their brutes through the hot-drop pad, and ram the brutes. Force them to play defense early until your hog numbers can take out a base with D-bomb assistance. Chieftains will of course be looking to brute rush so coordination of a defense and the use of D-bombs will be key.

> @1:34:50 you guys got a terrible spawn IMO. Triple Chieftain on Exile is tough, period. Then to have Forge spawn at the bottom was terrible because he can’t as easily double base as you and your Covy.
> @1:35:00 you need to contest their scouts for supplies. Don’t let them take them all.
> @1:36:25 you need to be at the enemy bases hitting warehouses or their brute units. If your not going to double base and instead build warthogs, then do something with them
> @1:36:35 you self destructing your only base, then later you criticize purple for not “delaying them”. WOW. Total lack of understanding on your part. Harassing the Brutes with hogs while continuing to queue building and turrets would double the life of your base, and allow your teammates to get going. I’m very fond of saying that sometimes in Halo Wars, it’s your job to “take it up the -Yoink-” bearing the brunt of the enemy offense so that your teammates can remain full strength. i.e. If this game was WWII, you acted like France, not Russia.
> @1:36:45 if purple has committed to building 2 bases, he MUST double pump brutes and play offense! Jackals are not the answer to 3x Chieftain. They will be vortexed into the ground.

> As a general tip, higher-level Halo Wars is all about doing the “little” things well, like having good micro, playing aggressive, and coordinating with teammates. So when someone says “build hogs versus Chieftain” there’s a lot of room for ambiguity in there. You gotta do all the little things well along the way, and adjust to what the other team does. I’d give your team a rating of 3 out of a possible 10 when it comes to Halo Wars fundamentals. The level of competition is slightly more terrible in Standard 3v3, than in 3v3 Party Teams, so it is tougher to learn these things against inferior competition.
I told you already, I wasn’t used to what they do in 3 parties, and these people I’ve squadded up with I’ve never partied with before. That Arby build is what I use to harass bases early game in randoms. It leaves me with a bad economy, but it’s enough to sustain suicide grunts when I attack. My build usually works, but not this time. I knew as soon as I saw triple Anders what they were doing. I didn’t have the resources to rage, I would have had to scrap the SG plan and gone straight into economy and Turrets from the get go.
Randoms doesn’t take skill you say? Please try to earn that 41 TS in 3v 3 randoms, please, easy my ***. That’s the fun of randoms, you don’t know the skill of your teammates, and may or may not have to compensate for their skill. That’s harder in my opinion, because most times there is not a lot of coordination.
If I pull my scout away it is usually to avoid him being destroyed.
If I self destruct a base then it means I’ve already lost/my team has lost. I don’t know how good my team is, so not gonna waste my time for false hope.
Purple should have gone early leader + Jackals and not have single based, I already knew what was going to happen when I saw Triple covy, already knew. I am not the best human early game, most of my experience is with Arby. I’ve fought triple covy in randoms and WON as arby. This I know and HAVE countered, won’t work when I’m Arby.
But to summarize, the stuff that enemies do on 3s Parties vs. 3s Randoms is way wayy different. I remember reading on the old Halo Wars forums the stuff they did in 1 v 1s and 3 parties, so I expected a level of scrubbery, but not this bad. Learned my lesson and know what to expect now.
Guess I need better teammates, and more experience in 3s parties, plus an xbox mic. I’m sure running into this enough times I’ll have learned to counter it.
I wasn’t trying to be a donkeys behind to you, just putting my thoughts out there, I thank you for your view of what mistakes I made. Any other players thoughts are more then welcome.
