Just wondering what people think about Halo 5, its gameplay and other mechanics. What are 3 things from Halo 5 you would want to see come back in Halo Infinite? And what are 3 things you wouldn’t want to see again?
3 Things to come back:
Custom Games Browser
Improved Customization, example like having more assassinations to choose from.
Having exclusive armor to obtain like the achilles armor set.
3 Things not to come back:
200+ armor sets, that is way to much.
REQs like having vehicle and weapon variants, should just stay a Halo 5 thing.
Spartan Abilities, never liked the abilities, I feel like some of the abilities dont take skill at all like ground pound.
I think Halo 5 was a decent game but it definitely had its flaws. If I were to pick 3 things to come back…
- Customs Browser. This is by far my favorite addition to the game, this feature made it very easy to play fun customs or competitive ones.
- Warzone Firefight (or preferably a Firefight with a more classic feel)
- The weapon sandbox. I feel like Halo 5’s weapon sandbox was the most balanced sandbox in any Halo game after the big weapon tuning update, with the only notable exception being the battle rifle, which got nerfed way too hard.
3 things to not come back…
- Warzone. I’m a BTB kid at heart and I really was disappointed with how Warzone took away from BTB in H5 during its development. I feel like a more polished BTB is the way to go, with a form of PvE WZFF to replace PvP Warzone.
- The amount of vehicle variants. There were way too many unnecessary vehicle variants that cluttered the req pool (for example; tundra warthog, woodland warthog, etc)
- Ground pound and spartan charge. I feel like these are self explanatory.

I wouldn’t mind if WZ didn’t come back, but WZA was really fin in my opinion and i would like to see it in halo infinite. In Halo Infinite i think BTB should more attention than warzone (assuming it does come back). It feels like BTB was hardly updated compared to Warzone back in 2016-2017 and even 2018.

Oh yeah Warzone Assault was definitely fun but I really hope BTB gets the attention that it deserves. Warzone overshadowed it throughout Halo 5’s development and lifespan.

It definitely did. One thing that could of brought more attention to BTB could of been adding it above or below warzone in the multiplayer section of H5, instead of keeping it kinda tucked away with the social arena playlists
3 things to come back:
- Arbiter
- Buck
- All of the vehicles and weapons
3 things to not return:
- The awful writing
- Most of Fireteam Osiris
- Microtransactions

Maybe, but I don’t think that would’ve solved the problem to be honest. The root of the problem is that Warzone got more attention in H5’s development, which is again why I hope that Warzone doesn’t come back; or at the very least BTB gets more attention throughout Infinite’s development.

true, back in the day all those monthly updates were mainly focused around Warzone

Yup. Not to mention, BTB wasn’t even available at launch. It came a month later.

yeah, that was pretty ridiculous. That was the first thing i looked when i installed halo 5. If its not there at launch, and doesn’t get the attention it deserves then thats going to upset a lot of people.

Exactly. I was really upset and felt like Warzone was going to replace BTB entirely (thankfully it didn’t).

the only thing that warzone had that was interesting, which is also something you brought up, was the reqs. Some were kinda pointless, like the vehicle variants and the pointless armor variants

Oh yeah definitely. Way too many pointless req variants that just cluttered the req pool.
Three to go:
- Sprint
- Ground pound
- Zoom with automatic/close range weapons and the accuracy boost that comes with it
Three to stay:
- Magnum as the utility weapon over the BR
- Clamber
- Spartan companies
Three things to go:
- Endless amounts of armor and helmets (I’m all for customization, but the sheer number of reqs required to get them all was insane)
- Just changing the paint job on a vehicle and treating it like a new vehicle (So I like some variants, the Hannibal versions of vehicles. But there was camo warthog, camo rocket warthog, camo warthog without gun, camo warthog with dented front, etc. It was too much)
- Overall, I don’t love the endless req system.
Three things to return:
- I love Warzone firefight and Warzone assault.
- More love for BTB. Agree with others that it got short shrift this time around
- The weapon/vehicle variants (and shout out for the wasp vehicle)
If we are talking specifically about Halo 5, then
Three things to go:-
- Sprint(Let’s just get over with it. Halo has been on a decline ever since it was introduced. Let the fans have what they truly want).
- Ground Pound and Spartan Charge.
- REQ System
Three things to stay:- - Thrusters
- Clamber
- Custom Games Browser
3 things to stay-
1-The largest forge to date with the most options
2- the map and weapon designs in arena, and the general overall gameplay balance
3-the customs browser
Three things to leave
1- REQs. Great for warzone, and they could perhaps stay for Warzone if it returned but I hate unlocking armor through RNG boxes. That’s lame.
2-ground pound/spartan charge abilities
3-stuttering when hit while sprinting and clamber. Pointless and sometimes annoying features

I agree especially on spartan companies.

> Just wondering what people think about Halo 5, its gameplay and other mechanics. What are 3 things from Halo 5 you would want to see come back in Halo Infinite? And what are 3 things you wouldn’t want to see again?
3 things to come back:
- Custom browser (not just for Forge modes) - Forge Mode with even more functions (mirror obj, more programming options, moving parts like doors and so on) - Swapping seats in vehicles without leaving it3 things NOT to come back:
- Advanced movement mechanics, including ADS (ugh!) - Gambling RNG mechanics with a lot of grinding attached to it - Limited personalization (just helmets and armor)
