-3 Things Infection NEEDS-

  • Two separate teams like in Halo 2. You get infected, you change colors so that when people press the back button, it’s distinguishable.

  • A new mode where it actually MATTERS being the last person alive and surviving the longest. Why does everything have to always be about kills? Maybe for every person that dies, you get a point which multiplies further the longer you stay alive.

  • Some creepy ambient noise that automatically plays in the background for Infection modes. Know how some maps have their own ambient backdrops? Why can’t Infection have this to make it scary?

Infection has potential, but IMO it’s no where near how fun it was in Halo 2.

nice, i think they should slightly change the look of the infected spartan, not completely just so it looks a bit better

I’d say they should make the Infected Spartans be like The Flood… but I doubt that will ever happen so I didn’t even bother including it ;[

I like 2 and 3, 1 I’m not so sure about, they already change armor color so you can tell who’s who, then again…

You forgot some of the infection stuff mentioned in here

“Two separate teams like in Halo 2. You get infected, you change colors so that when people press the back button, it’s distinguishable.”
What do you mean? mind explaining?

So when you hold the ‘back’ button on your controller, you can see who is infected, and who’s still alive.

There had to be two separate teams in Halo 2 because there was no way of the game to distinguished between the infected and survivors otherwise. While it might be nice to see who the infected are with the back button, it isn’t really necessary, since the infected are the sickly green horde running around with swords.

I’d agree that it shouldn’t be all about kills, but the time survived should be taken into account as well. I think it is designed this way because there is no better way to keep score in the games programming.

An audio filter similar to the FX filters could work I believe, but I don’t think it should be on the top of the list of improvements needed for Infection. Things like:

  • Fix bulltrue betrayals.

  • Design maps for Infection instead of using the default maps. Most default maps don’t work well for infection and a little forging can make a big impact.

I had another one but it slipped my mind at the moment…

I’ve been waiting for the infected to be Flood. It would just work.

You can’t make infected look like flood, because there are just as many (if not more) gametypes based off Infection and not Zombies.

Ever played Conversion? It’s a game where the Infected get Covie loadouts and turn blue. The effect and theme would be ruined if they had to look like Flood.

well id alike these features

i think they should do one of the following things.

make the Zombie a Flood Combat Form.

or

make the Zombie an Elite.

They could make it an option in game settings for the infected to either be flood or remain a spartan. everyone wins

Things Infection needs? Well then.

  1. Custom Games Browser
  2. An actual Far Cry-type Map Creator.
  3. Complete gametype customization, including AI support.

My personal favorite Infection gametypes from Halo 3? Boss battles against Choppers and such.

lol icwutudidthar!

I think it makes it more tense if you can press back and see that you have 15 Zombies after you instead of no more teammates on the screen.

Completely agree with this guy. UNKNOWN, the ideas you’re suggesting just seem really insignificant to me, I just don’t see how you could think the gametype NEEDS them.

I described how it NEEDS them. Don’t you want Infection to be scary and more intense? (ambient music backdrop)

Don’t you want to be able to see how many zombies there are when you press back? …further making it more tense…

Don’t you think it’s a good idea to make it SIGNIFICANT that you’re the last person alive? What’s the benefit of being the sole survivor in Infection games currently? None.

> I described how it NEEDS them. Don’t you want Infection to be scary and more intense? (ambient music backdrop)

I don’t think ambient music would make the game any more scary and intense. In fact, silence seems to be far more intensifying than music. The statement, “It’s quiet… Too quiet” comes to mind. I think ambient music would make the game feel less real. I’m almost positive it would just annoy me.

> Don’t you want to be able to see how many zombies there are when you press back? …further making it more tense…

No. I like having to look around to see how many humans are still alive. Besides, I don’t want friends of mine to know for a fact that I’m a zombie until I’m running at them with a sword. You know when you’re the last man standing because the game tells you, “Last man standing” and gives you a medal for it.

> Don’t you think it’s a good idea to make it SIGNIFICANT that you’re the last person alive? What’s the benefit of being the sole survivor in Infection games currently? None.

Well, me and friends of mine would say one of the benefits is that all the zombies are coming after you. More to kill. The game also gives you an extra point for being last man standing, and as I said: a medal.

> *Oh yeh, real big deal! lol… There should be a separate gametype that if you’re the last man standing, you win… or have it based on a number of lives or something else. Again, THIS would not impact your generic Infection mode you play on Reach so you shouldn’t be against it ;*

Seems like you’re just being a devil’s advocate for no reason. My comments obviously in bold.
