Can somebody explain to me why I have been 3 shot killed by a BR? I keep reading that it is 5 shot kill, but there are definitely times when it has been 3. I live in the UK, and have had no real problems with lag at all, I just see it on other players from time to time.
EDIT: Sorry, it is 4 shot kill not 5, I was thinking of the DMR. But the 3 shot kill has still happened.

It’s supposed to be 4 shot kill.
In Halo 4’s launch it was 5 shot kill, but the halo community protested and it was changed back to 4 shot kill.
Now the DMR is 5 shot kill though
BR is a 4 shot perfect kill. The only thing I think it could be is if you take some damage from another player at the same time.

Still this happens. i’ve seen it, and been on the otherside and i’ve done it to ppl. Also to friends i chatt telling me they did not take damage before i started shooting. soo… yeah it happens… i wonder why. =S =/

I agree it has happened without first taking damage. Though I didn’t think about the 2 people shooting at once situation, it could happen. I’ll record it next time I see it and post a link. I feel like it has just been from one person shooting me, not multiple.

If it happens again watch the kill feed. If it has the bulls eye then you took other damage, if it has the star then I definitely don’t know what to tell you
You can be getting team shot, that’s always a possibility. Another possibility is your lagging and the shots aren’t registering on your end at first. if that’s the case I don’t think theater is going to help you out either, but you can give it a shot.

I agree with this. I’ve team shot people and been team shot. Me and another player fire at the exact same time. Player has no clue that its 2 vs one. My teammate lands 2 more shots. because I lose sight of he enemy. Enemy dies.

I thought the bullseye indicates headshot not damage from other players?
@ OP - what you are experiencing is latency so it appears that you only took 3 shots…you just dont see them on your screen. Check the “Dedicated EU Servers” thread for lots of more information on this subject.
If a star does not show up when you are killed, then it is not a 4 shot. Either you didn’t know your shields were low, or you were hit by a second player. Or they had a damage boost if this happens in warzone.

You’re claiming a gun 343 designed to be 4 shots to kill is 3 shots…
Okay? If you really want to prove your point next time try provide a little evidence or something to your claim.

It does indicate a headshot, I’m just assuming when he dies it’s from a headshot so if it’s a bulls eye then most likely he took other damage, so it couldn’t be a 3 shot perfect kill.
If this is happening in Warzone it could be due to a damage boost being used?
If the damage boost was being used then OP would know (or should know) that the player would have the red/orange glow around him (presuming he had the player in line of sight). This can be checked in theatre.
Maybe someone using a modified controller.

Haha no I’m not claiming that the gun isn’t a minimum of 4 shots, by what other comments have been posted I wanted to see if anybody else had experienced it or explain the problem. As you can see, there are a few reasons as to why this might have happened. I think after looking in the “Dedicated EU servers” thread it’s more likely to be latency. Which sucks because I didn’t think I was having problems.
And the times that I am thinking of all occurred in BTB, so it wouldn’t have been damage boost as there are none of those in the BTB maps at present.
I have had this happen to me a couple times where I definitely did not take damage prior to them shooting me and they definitely did not have a boost. It may have been lag though as it has only been a couple times out of many MANY warzone games. (not that there hasn’t been a plethora of other issues however.)
It’s called latency. Happens to us Europeans all the time being connected to American servers.
