For the last little while I’ve been fighting my csr to stay in Diamond, and it’s worked to a degree; the last 2 wins and losses I got more or less neutralized each other. Today however I ended with a random queue and, depsite being top of my team in both kills and kda, dropped from Diamond 2 to Platinum 5. Is there any explanation for this? I didn’t think that was possible.
Yeah, it’s possible if you lost a few games in a row.
It’s brutal I was at diamond one two days ago and after 15 losses from 17 games I’m at plat 2 even though most games I’m positive kd etc the joys of playing solo

Last year I was in Diamond 1 and lost a close game and went down to Gold 5… That was before TS2 though.
I believe currently the max CSR you can gain or lose from one game is 30. So unless something is happening that I missed, you shouldn’t be skipping an entire rank from one game (e.g. Diamond 2 to Platinum 6). However, possibly a game that resulted in a CSR loss didn’t get applied immediately and it was applied in a later game? Causing a 60 CSR drop? I’m not exactly sure to be honest.

If 343’s servers are lagging so badly that my laat 3 games in a row all got applied at once causing me to drop 3 ranks… Well they need to get their -Yoink- together. In plat 5 I’m going outrageously positive (10/1, 20/5) and still having my team drop me. This isn’t even a game anymore it’s just boring target practice
I know what you mean. I’m typically a plat 3 player. But, I have a friend that is a gold player that I like to play with. When we we play together, most matches I am very positive and only go up 1 CSR, no problem, the other team is usually gold’s with 1or 2 other low plat players. Then they match us against a diamond and a bronze player, we lose, I barely go positive and lose 30 CSR. I know the math says a diamond + bronze = plat + gold, but it’s not. Especially, when the bronze is a Smurf.

Yea happens to me all the time. I went from diamond 4 to diamond 1 in just a few matches. Despite loosing and still placing top on the team, I go down from 50-60% on a loss but sometimes only go up 2%.
