I got 3 permanent upgrades in a req pack just now… Is this even a thing?

just happened to me too, got sword ghost, longshot BR, and an emblem. Weird… You and I got the same emblem.

Some people were mentioning that emblems didn’t count as permanents anymore now, so it may be that!
First two slots will no longer grant you emblems, and you have chance to receive an emblem besides those two permanent unlocks. It’s in the patch note.
This should help explain it. I find it to be an excellent change! I was tired of opening packs that gave me two emblems.
Emblems no longer count for the two permanent REQs. They have their own separate slot, because I posted a thread a month ago in which everyone complained about emblems being in REQ packs. Nice to see 343i listened!

So whats happened is that you get two permanent unlocks, that cannot be emblems.
Then the third slot is either a boost or an emblem. maybe 50% or 60% chance for an emblem.
still think we need challenges alongside the dily win, they do that and we’ll be golden

They changed the system so each time you open a req pack, you have a chance at unlocking a third item - an emblem(they are no longer counted as the 2 permanent reqs). Its pretty sweet, but may not happen on every req pack

yeah people complained that emblems in req packs was annoying. Especially when you get two emblems in a gold pack. So now emblems are no longer considered as the two permanent items you get in packs. Their a third wheel.
Something good actually came out of complaining for once. Well that and the PGCR. Hate whiners. (probably spelt that wrong) Dont get angry at me cause I said that. I really wanted to say that. Okay you can get angry just know no good will come out of an argument so i wont reply
Has anyone else also found ultra rares in silver packs? I got the ruptive AR skin as a third unlock in a silver, and I definitely got at least one other in a different silver pack too but can’t remember what it was, not armour or helmet though I remember that much

Yes it happens. There will be a couple of rares in gold packs as well.

I got that too i got the noble valur Armour and a storm rifle variant i think it was Fury
Happen the same to me all three were uncommons but doesn’t matter.

So glad to hear this I’m even closer to complete the req collection without so many emblems to obtain. Hope it applies to all rarities.
I was confused about this last night - same thing happened to me. Also got an Ultra Rare card in a Silver pack? Absolutely LOVE the change though… No more stupid emblems for my hard work at the REQ points!
I think this is one of the best things 343i have done!
