herd there was the update like 10 minutes ago… hop on click download and its was supposed to be a 8 GB update and its downloading a 28 GB update! How can this be fixed

In my case was the same. Good thing I left it all the night downloading.
happened to me last update and it happened again, im depressed…
Came home from work. My xbox was whinning. Tried to switch it on via Kinect, then controller, then just pressing the on button, on the console. And nothing. Had to do a hard reset, and then I saw I had to redownload the whole game.
Will we ever get an update that fixes the update??? lololol

This is what happened to me… I have tons of game that gets update every week, how possibly a AAA Halo Wars 2 title can be like this? Seriously…
The first 2 updates that came with DLC releases were 28GB for me, this one was just 8.11GB. They’ve been a killer. I’ve been living at a hotel for a few months after a house fire and the wi-fi only peaks around 3mb/s. Having an update the size of the whole game literally has taken over 2 days to download in the past.
It’s not the update that is 28G, it’s literally reinstalling the ENTIRE f’in game every single time a new Leader comes out. This is the third time my game has reinstalled from scratch all 28G each time (Kinsano, Colony, now Johnson).
It’s beyond irritating, especially since for me personally for some reason, my download only begins (and freezes my Xbox forcing me to do a hard reset) when I first turn it on, despite the fact I have it setup to download updates while in sleep mode… so I can’t even play with the new DLC leaders on day one because I’m waiting around all evening for my game to finish redownloading.
Halo Wars 2 is the only game I own that has done this. I have a digital copy of the game with the season pass.

Man, are you okey? I mena, I am really sorry about the fire. I cannot imagine how devastating can be that for someone… A friend of mine suffered the same disaster and he was several weeks thinking about all the things he lost.

Thanks for asking! I’m fine at this point. It was a dryer fire, I got some minor burns on my hand from opening the door to stop the motor. The damage wasn’t too extensive but there’s been so much red tape that’s been holding up progress. We’re looking like we’ll be ready to move back home in the next few weeks. I lost a lot of clothes that will be possible to replace (concert and convention shirts mostly) but end of the day, everyone’s fine so I can’t really complain too much. I’ll totally admit to getting super impatient about wanting to move home at this point, though.
