25m Radar Please

yeah it was reduced for some odd reason, which logically doesn’t make sense, either nor gameplay wise.

it’s interesting how the radar got downgraded from Reaches version which showed if someone was above or below you… considering reach chronologically was in universe before any of the games… But i’m putting logic into a game…

That’s a lot of text without saying anything. You’re just a hardcore casual that posts on a halo forum, definitely not ironic. Radar is crap and promotes bad playstyles by allowing people to camp and get free information, start with that comment. Looking at your radar isn’t skill.

If you’re saying CE 3sk wasn’t hard then you didn’t play against anyone good. Getting 3sk vs 5sk body was what allowed for the occasional 1v2 wins and that felt better than any other halo. H5 magnum perfects was the only thing to come close.

H2, H3, and Infinite are all just team shot games as it’s easy to get hits in comparison, almost no room to out shoot anyone.

Radar is useless right now.

My only complaint about the campaign radar is why 59?? Like why? Just make it 60. OCD i guess lol

Just like in Halo 5, completely worthless. By the time you see someone on the radar, they’re already shooting you with an AR and you’re down to half shields. Another case of 343 changing things that really don’t need to be changed.

Lmao you’re so mad haha, you’re just missing the point because you lack reading comprehension skills.

I have to respectfully disagree. in H2 (not so much in the crappy vista port on MCC) and H3 you can still out shoot someone with a BR if they’re camping with an AR/SMG. In infinite you really can’t unless the person with the AR can’t aim to save their life. As for H1, I can’t really comment to much as I didn’t play it that much, however most didn’t really camp corners and hide behind boxes or whatever at least when I played it. H1 pistol (MCC) was pretty inconsistent though

I do think the infnite Ar has too much range.

and the pistol. PC players can cross map with it

What makes you think I am mad? It’s a video game forum, I don’t care that much. I just don’t understand why people cling to radar when it’s proven to make the game less fun/challenging.

I would like the motion sensor to get boosted back to 25m, at least for BTB as that’s the mode I play the most of but Arena could probably use it as well.

Everyone hated the state of the motion sensor in the BTB Flight and I am happy that 343 did boost the range in time for the multiplayer’s release, but I still find it to be a bit too short, especially for a map like Fragmentation. With the map so cluttered with natural obstacles - trees, hills, crevices, etc. -, the motion sensor is really helpful in giving you warnings of what enemies you may be about to stumble onto behind the myriad of obstructions to your vision. And given the chaos that can ensue and has in previous games, I found the motion sensor to be a reliable compass to not only navigate through said chaos, but still let you get in proper positions and do your part to fight back even when in the thick of it.

But not only have I found it more difficult to do, but it still feels a bit too often that I’ll either be attacked by someone at a range who I would’ve definitely seen coming in the older games or I’ll be ready to pounce on someone only to realize that there’s one, two, maybe more players around him because they were hovering just a couple more meters shy out of the motion sensor’s range.

Boosting the motion sensor’s range back up to 25m would be really helpful, at the very least for BTB.

Honestly the radar to me is useless as it currently is. I’d rather it be increased to 25m or just taken out entirely if there is no change.

Just got done playing MCC after infinite, and man do I gotta say I love the 25m range radar. Halo 3 is such a beautiful game, and infinite really is too, it has so much potential. I think a big step in the right direction is setting the radar range to 25m. Please 343, if you guys are listening at all, if you could just give us fans this change we’d really appreciate it.

Honestly, the motion sensor range is fine or, at least, it would be if it were simply ACCURATE. 18 meters (59 feet) is a perfectly reasonable range for a motion tracker. The problem is that, while is says “18m” on the screen, the effective range is more like 5 meters. People within melee range show up about 25% of the sensor’s range which would mean that, without moving your feet, you can punch someone 15 feet away. Someone at the edge of the sensor is only standing about three Spartan’s body lengths away. Correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t think the Spartans are 20 feet tall.

With Sprint/slide and Grapple you kind of need an extended Radar. Majority of the playerbase do not enjoy getting shot before they can react to someone. (I know an overgeneralization, but an accurate one) - “where did he come from” should be more rare than it is.

To be honest, I’m surprised the “No Sprint” topics are not floating around. Have we been that culturally engineered to accept one of the more controversial movement mechanics introduced in the franchise?

Yes for radar having 25m.
Since BTB is broken right now ive been on small maps with other gametypes that won’t crash or boot me from the servers. Currently the only way somebody is on my radar is when they are in melee range.

Some people on here say that they don’t like radar and rather have it off  thats fine with me. The amount of back smacks I can get in a game of ranked is unbelievable. Double kills, Triple kills galore!
How can anybody say that they like having no radar because it makes for more tactic gameplay. Ive been able to flank an enemy team and back smack all four. So if that’s a tactic way of playing it only works if you have no radar.
I in no way completely rely on the radar. Its in my peripheral vision from being a veteran Halo player. I can still get caught off guard at times too. People who focus way too much on their radar don’t know how to play and can get picked off from a distance easily.

I honestly think the amount of new halo players that came with the hype train for infinite are still trying figure out how the game plays and with the current radar now being 18m it’s not helping anyone.

Don’t mind her @KCDODER she had a post on radar before and all she did was troll people and post bumping her own post.
She’s all about competitive gameplay and the weird version the radar was in the one of the flights

Increasing general movement speed compared to classic halos combined with shortening the radar range doubles down on the uselessness of the radar itself. Since classic halos had much slower movement with large radar range, I’d expect a faster movement speed would have an even larger radar range to balance it out. This is how I felt in H5 immediately upon discovering the sprint, slide, thrust and movement abilities meanwhile having a 18m radar. Makes no sense. 25m was perfect. Don’t fix what isn’t broken.
Besides, everything else in Infinite is geared towards casual players (AR, Power weapons like Hammer, Rockets, Cindershot and even grenades) Why does the radar feel like it’s built for competitive play? Competitive play has no radar at all.

Yes to 25 radar and I I wish they would add what direction you’re being shot from on the radar ala halo 5 instead of red blurr onscreen.
I’m being shot from the left…rear left, side left diagonal left, front left? Doesn’t matter, cause I’m already dead.

Respawn, repeat.
