25m Radar Please

Or… or we could just make it 25m like the classics and call it a day. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it, may as well try to emulate the most popular and long running halo multiplayer of all time.

You should try crouch walking, you can make the same outplays.

and when people see your dot disappears a mile out they know your trying to pull something on them a lot easier even though they can’t see you directly.

Lol, but by your logic they’d just barrel in no? It’s the same exact thing you’re complaining about is people’s lack of awareness. Use crouching to achieve the same result and take skill.

Some of us are old. I’ll need an effin notebook if they bring this in

You don’t need nearly as much awareness when you have a larger radar to do all that work for you. The larger the radar, the less you have to actually think. The worst one being the one that actually told you people were above or below you ( forget which one that was ). Might as well have wall hacks at that point to where you can see people through walls lol.

Agreed; they don’t need to change it’s functions to be situational, they just need to simply extend the range back to standard. I don’t know why 343i love trying to change or break things that already previously worked just fine. I swear, they have such an inferiority complex with regards to using the standards set by Bungie’s foundation. Seriously, stop changing s*** just for the sake of changing it… it’s annoying as all hell.

I feel you on the elevation portion actually, I mean I don’t dislike it, but I wouldn’t complain if they got rid of it. Aside from that though I disagree, you may as well not have a radar at the range it is now. And don’t get me wrong, I’m at the top of the leaderboard every game, I always am and I love the game, but the radar being garbage sucks. Halo 3 was perfect, the radar in that game was the best, and halo 3’s numbers and my polls numbers show that they did it right by their fans.

The radar you’re thinking of was Halo 4’s.

I’m probably older.

What I need from the radar is…

  1. A dot when someone is right behind me in close quarters combat (covering my blind spot)

  2. A early warning when someone is coming at me at ramming speed (grapple shot / vehicles).

  3. An indication of the direction I’m being shot from.

Anything else is about game / spatial awareness… and I’m fine with (but not necessarily good at).

I could see a game type maybe having that, but for social that sounds miserable to me lol. Again if it ain’t broke don’t fix it, we should just bring back the classic 25m IMO the game would be better off with it.

I was too old to play CE when that came out but it sounds like you need a hearing aid and a wheelchair for your Spartan too.:joy:

Ah hello again XD. stretches yep this forum is going pretty good I’d say. Can’t say I’m too surprised about the poll results so far.

It’s just… Such a crutch…

Well 41 out of 45 people disagree with you :o. One of those people being me, as it’s not a crutch at all. You just lack the mastery of 25m radar gameplay.

Half the time I look at my radar and it shows a room is safe and when I enter the room or pass the corner I get back smacked by a crouching stealth ninja

I think the more I rely on my radar the worst I do. Yeah it’s help full to glance at to see info, but the best thing to pay attention to is sound :loud_sound:

So maybe they lowered the radar because they want people to look at the radar less? Or just use it to see who’s above or under? I don’t know but this thread will be the judge :hammer:

Wh-

Oh I remember you now.

No, I… like anybody else, function just fine with radar. It’s too useful. It’s… not a tool to be proud of mastering and your idea that it makes you better than ranked players is honestly just, odd/

Yay you remember me haha! Also, the radar is definitely a tool to be proud of mastering. It’s something that takes complete skill to use and makes the gameplay of halo so unique and fun. In the H3 days I remember using crouch walking to its fullest potential and destroying my foes that relied on the 25m too much. I was able to get useful intel at a glance and defeat my foes that lacked skill in their movement. I am and always will be better than most people at social slayer, especially in H3, and I’m proud of this because I use the tools provided effectively and have mastered them.
