25m Radar Please

The current radar is much too small, 18m in multiplayer just sucks :/. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it, please bring back the 25m radar, that’d be a huge win for classic halo fans. I’ll also attach a poll to this, so we can see where everyone sits on this.

I didn’t even know they had reduced it, here’s me thinking that people were closing in on me a lot faster and that I was just missing it on the radar but knowing this makes so much sense. If i look away from the radar for a split second, someone is already on my -Yoink!- in an instant.
Thanks for detailing this.

343 fix it, it sucks as it is - like the forum says, if it’s not broke don’t fix it. Return it to what it was.

Still works just fine for me. Allows for more strategy instead of awarding people playing like a neanderthal and bum rush everywhere.

100% 25m motion tracker. Current one is useless.

Even the 18m doesn’t feel like 18m. I swear in previous games it was 18m and felt a lot further. I feel like they did 18 feet instead.

The 18 meters feels like 18 centimeters. I won’t see anyone on radar until they’re on top of me

I hate radar and even I want the 25mm in social

25mm would be rather small, don’t ya think?

That was the base range way back when.

I encourage you to check out the poll, just because it’s great for you doesn’t mean the community agrees with you. It needs to be changed, though you’re entitled to your opinion of course.

Lol yeah it’s 25m I think he meant that haha.

Please, yes! Goodness, the radar in MP is so bad it’s terrible. The 59m radar in the campaign was almost a slap in the face because it’s actually useful lol

@343 please make the radar full again it would make so many people happy!

People are too accustomed to having the motion tracker do all the work for them, can’t be bothered to look around the area to see that it’s safe lol. This way they see a dot, they can bum rush it like an neanderthal. This is too apparent for anyone claiming that it’s worthless.

People can’t be bothered with taking a second to look around before they barrel through area’s to make sure the area’s clear lol.

I’m sure but not that sure but pretty sure they addressed this prelaunch. Said it’d be increased early on after release. May have only been BTB. Not sure but pretty sure as sure can be sure

You can look at it that way sure, or you could say that they’re using a tool given to them efficiently. You see, ranked has no radar, if you don’t like it because you feel people rely on it too much then there’s always that. But the majority of halo fans and myself would like to see the radar be useful in social. I mean, it feels like it doesn’t even exist bro, it’s kinda trash the way it is now.

Also, keep in mind a reliance on the radar also gets you killed. What if your foe is crouch walking? It’s a balance of skill, awareness, and paying attention to your radar to be successful in a halo game outside of ranked.

In it’s present form, the range is so short it might as well be completely useless. If you want that forced tactical play, where callouts and observational skills are the difference between life and death, go into Ranked or Tactical Slayer. Leave the social players alone; you know, Halo used to actually be about having fun, before 343i got involved.

Shorter range does the exact opposite, less actual sneaking just cod kills now.

Just run and shoot at them because they won’t hear you and they won’t see you on the motion tracker until they’re already half down on shields.

True monkey gameplay.

0-5m everyone shows (including stationary players)
5-10m only moving players
10-15m only player sprinting or faster
15-20m only players faster then sprint (vehicles, grapple, man cannon, etc)

Then have a little blip on the edge of the radar for anyone moving towards you faster than sprinting from 20-30m.

I have no trouble getting a lot of use of it out of maps and find it fare from useless. It just feels like people can’t be bothered to simply look around an idea before barreling through. Then they wonder why they get punished. It’s because they’re so used to be warned an enemy is coming up behind them from a mile away.

Can’t count the number of times where I’d run around the corner, turn around and jump+duck backwards and have an opponent fly around the corner, go right under me and I hit them in the back even with no shields on lol.

Agreed; 343i have loved this form of brainless gameplay since trying to cater to the CoD-players & tryhards with Halo 5. 18m motion tracker was trash in that game, and it’s still trash here. If anything, it’s even worse.
