So I finished my 250th game a couple hours ago and I can guarantee you that it won’t even be close to my last.
250 games isn’t a tremendous amount, but I do know that it is enough for me to declare that Halo 5 is absolutely a blast to play! Arena is super competitive, fair, intense, and fun just how I like it and Warzone has the fast pace, constant action, and utter chaos that I have always wanted in a Halo playlist! Halo 5 certainly isn’t perfect, but I have already spent two full days playing it and it is just sheer enjoyment for me. I have never had this much fun in a Halo multiplayer…EVER!
Yeah, yeah, I know. Halo 3 is and always will be GOAT to many people (especially purists), but I never had this much fun in Halo 3. Halo: Reach was much closer, but even though I put 6,000 games into Halo: Reach, I have had much more fun during my 250 games in Halo 5.
If you thought that wasn’t enough, I didn’t even buy other AAA titles because of Halo 5. Here’s the list:
I didn’t buy Call of Duty: Black Ops III because of Halo 5 (I feel sorry for anyone who did buy COD BO III)
I didn’t buy Star Wars Battlefront because of Halo 5 (Got bored of the Star Wars beta in an hour)
I didn’t buy Assassin’s Creed Syndicate because of Halo 5 (I will buy this eventually, just don’t know when)
I didn’t buy Rise of the Tomb Raider because of Halo 5 (Like Syndicate, I will eventually buy this)
I cancelled my pre-order of Fallout 4 because of Halo 5 (It would just collect dust due to how much I play Halo 5)
Hate me all you want, it won’t matter to me. I haven’t played any other game since Halo 5’s release and I honestly don’t know when I will play any other game. Halo 5 has me hooked. I made it to SR 50 and I have loved unlocking armor, weapons, vehicles, skins, assassinations, stances etc. I won’t be content until I have it all! It may seem weird that someone could love Halo 5 to the extent that I do, but Halo is my hobby, it’s my passion, and it’s a part of me. I love Halo and I love Halo 5. I can’t wait to see where 343 takes Halo 5 because I have a feeling that it will just get better and better as time goes on!
Not hating on you. I agree. I went away for a few days to play fallout but I came back. Still have not touched my Battlefront game. Halo 5 is a great game to play
Awesome post, great to read!! I am in the same boat as you. Just hit rank 50 and have played a little over 250 games. Maybe 300 now. Loving it. Can’t wait to unlock my Venator helmet I always had in Halo 4. I’m still excited to play Tomb Raider but I’m gonna wait till I’m sick of this, which as of now might be never.
I feel you, I don’t need any other games till Christmas (my Mrs is getting me AC Syndicate, Fallout 4 and the Elite Controller then so my collection will grow then :P), but I also skipped F4 because I knew I’d be too distracted by Halo to give it a good shot. Still play some Forza and some KI but this is the game I’m spending most of my time on.
Oooh you’re in such a great place right now! That’s how I was during Halo 3 and even Halo Reach. I just couldn’t play any other games, especially other shooters! It’s a great feeling when you’re immersed in a Halo experience and I’m happy to hear that’s the case for you guys with Halo 5.
I think I’ve only played around 20 games on Halo 5 myself haha but still it’s great to hear some positivity about the game and experiences around here.

Source is playing Arena in Onyx division at 5-8 am EST. 20+ minutes to get into a game in Breakout, Team Slayer, and Team Arena. Population is obviously low if it cannot even populate 3 playlists with 8 players at the highest division. Halo 3 could still populate Team Slayer at levels 45-50 with 3000 people in the playlist nearly 5 years after its launch.
Halo 3 had 1.1 million unique users in 24 hours which is around 200,000 at peak hours because the average playtime is 4-5 hours. Halo 4 had 20,000 players a year after launch. Since Halo 5 is struggling to populate, it has to be very low. I don’t think it takes a genius to just admit that I am right.
Why do you feel sorry for people that bought Black Ops 3? That game is a blast, along with Fallout 4. I’m glad you’re getting a lot of enjoyment out of H5, and I wish I was having as much fun with it as you are. So far I’m playing H5 kinda like I play Battlefront. I get on, because I’m excited about playing, and then after 1 or 2 matches, I’m done and ready to move on. It’s almost like I’m trying to force myself to get the hang of this game, or force myself to like it just because it says Halo on the Main Menu, when it feels less like Halo to me than any Halo that has come before it.

It takes me 2-4 minutes to find a game in the middle of the night on the East Coast.
Why are you complaining about it being slow finding a game when you’re searching at the lowest peak time?
Considering that more sales were made in America than any other country that’s expected when everyone is asleep.
“I feel sorry for anyone who did buy COD BO III” Why? Was it broken? Just because you don’t like it doesn’t mean it’s not a solid game. Oh it’s the same thing every year? So is Pokemon. In fact. This community complains that Halo isn’t the same as previous games.
“I didn’t buy Star Wars Battlefront because of Halo 5 (Got bored of the Star Wars beta in an hour” Judging a game based on a beta. I got bored of that Halo 5 beta… doesn’t mean Halo 5 is bad. I love it. That said, it does hold some merit…
Idk… I love Halo 5, but can we just leave roasting other games out of it?
Holy cow ive played 263 games. Considering the fact that Fallout stole an entire week of my life that a metric -Yoink- ton. Still haven’t finished the main story of that game due to BTB luring me back to Halo.
Yes but how accurate is that? I think I believe the website more to be honest. It’s always changing and Battlefront now sits in 5th after being lower down for a while it’s made it’s way up the list. Perhaps you’re right though and I am wrong who knows for sure as I don’t think anyone has solid proof. But here It goes COD, Fallout, Fifa, Halo Battlefront.

I agree BO3 is absolutely incredible especially the drop in drop out co-op campaign with friends OR randoms (something H5 doesn’t have). Seriously that BO3 co-op campaign is an absolutely amazing experience. I think it destroys the H5 campaign by a longshot. Plus there is an entire other co-op campaign that unclocks in BO3 after you beat the game. Along with about 3-4 different zombie modes. I honestly think BO3 is one of the best games of 2015 and that is coming from someone that has not liked or purchased a COD game since WAW. So yes it is that good. So I feel sorry for those that are missing out on the BO3 experience.
Fallout 4 is beyond amazing. Another one of the best games of 2015. But that is a single player game and not even comparable to these other games.
I don’t have much interest in Battlefront. Played the beta and got bored after a while. Might rent it.
I am really enjoying H5. I found the h5 campaign a bit meh but overall H5 is a great game. Really liking the mp a lot. Warzone is my favorite.
idk why people trip over population so much. 1) As long as there are enough people playing so the wait time is not too extended the population is sufficient Imo. 2) if you interpret low population to mean people don’t like the game, maybe you are right maybe not. I would argue if you like the game who cares if others like the game or not…

I agree. The reason why I asked the source is because people just pull put stats from thin air. There will always be enough players in halo to have fun and honestly I think Halo 5 will live on until Halo 6 at least because of the competitive playlists. If 343 keep refreshing maps and adding new content as the months/years go by, Halo 5 will sustain a healthy population and we will always find games quickly with a good sample size of competition.
