I understand this is probably to prevent spam or something of the sort, but is this really the best idea?
I was going around the different forums, wanting to engage in discussion with my fellow Halo lovers, and ended up being unable to post because I hit the daily limit. For somebody who’s not trying to spam and genuinely just wants to have discussions within the Halo community, I’m not sure a post limit, discouraging discussion is really the best way to go about it. There’s already a 30 second delay between each post you make, which I think already makes the issue of spam very troublesome, so why a daily limit?
I feel like it’s counter-productive to discussion on the forums. And, to be honest, discussion on the forums here aren’t too lively as it is. I don’t think a daily post limit is doing the forum any favors. Just my thoughts.
The limit was introduced to prevent very high levels of automated spam from hitting the forums, which still finds it’s way through from time to time (though nowhere near the initial bursts). Even before the bot spamming, it was quite easy for the forums to fill up before a mod was available to intervene. I know it doesn’t seem like the best thing, but the limits increase as you rank up so before long you’ll be able to post without issue.

Ahh, I didn’t realize it was increased with your rank. I thought it was always just 25. In that case, I don’t think there will be much of an issue, like you said. I usually don’t hit 25, but I thought it was strange in case anybody was feeling particularly talkative.
