The achievement for completing the battlepass literally says “rank 120”
There is 20 levels of cut content from the battlepass and there is multiple threads on r/halo showing what was originally in it vs what was taken out to be sold, many of the reach sets are in that list, just because you haven’t looked for the information doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.
Im happy you like basically 3 lane maps with no actual room for vehicle combat, almost no verticality, and cramped spaces filled with grenades, but i dont, and so do many others, these maps are lacking even compared to some halo 5 forge maps.
There was an entire article posted a few days ago detailing the development of this game that states that 2/3 of the game was cut, the game was scrapped multiple times and only really came into shape these last 2 years.
And no, i wasnt lying about gamemodes, if you launched the game offline and went into custom games, they have been there since launch, slayer, fiesta, swat, attrition, all that good stuff, they can tout the excuse about ui limitations all they want (which only makes them look incompetent which isnt a good look either) but these gamemodes where in the game, and slayer worked perfectly fine in the flight.
Not to mention that ske7ch and uny both gave conflicting answers on why these gamemodes werent given to us at launch, both heavily leaning to data about challenges and swaps
so they could’ve and did do it… but instead either they willingly or were forced to do so for the sake of money? cool -v-
As long as people keep paying for them, they’ll keep selling them that way
I do have a problem with this mindset. Who is to say that they
They have committed to change for the past month, nearly releasing an update a week and have already confirmed that they have to redesign the system from the ground up to fix it. All with a brand new game engine. A game engine takes YEARS to master. The reason we had all of these good things in the past was because they were passed a game engine (Blam!) with all of the features already implemented and had to establish their own changes within it. Slipspace was specifically developed for this game, and requires more than just 6 years of learning to perfect. So they may have saw this as the easiest solution to the problem of many multiplayer games going F2P. They messed up, and they know it due to the outcry of the fanbase. Give them some time, more than just a month of complaints that they never heard before today, to fix these things. Let’s inspire hope, instead of hate, that they will get these changes done as timely as possible <3
My point being, let’s give them some time to fix their mistakes, but keep with the constructive criticism so they know exactly what we want.
Being cynical about change in this environment does nothing but clog their airways and 343’s path to our voices of change.
I looked at the achievement for “complete a level in the battle pass” it’s around 40% of players
I am 90 hours in this game now and Level 48 on the battle pass. Haven’t spend a single cent yet. Trying to get enough microsoft reward points to purchase the battle pass. I don’t know if I will finish the battle pass first or if I will have enough microsoft points first. The only armor I am interested in right now is the EVA armor but with a black visor.
I would like to spend money since this game brings me a lot of joy BUT not for these prices. Still not sure if the campaign is worth 60 bucks to be honest.
I agree, I have spent the money and I am regretting it. I have severe FOMO and wish this didn’t prey so hard on that. I’m holding out hope that we are going to get reimbursed for purchasing early on, but I am ready to accept the fact I gave in too early.
Hey, just so we’re keeping track of how silly the whole system is… wtf is “rarity” in this game?
There’s no random element to any of this, and the content is digital so there’s no actual scarcity, just an upcharge for whatever they decide to label “rare”.
It could possibly refer to the amount of times it is available in game. So Soldier Set appears less often than other Rare sets in the Store? Just shooting ideas, really no rhyme or reason behind that idea.
nah fam, 343i knew exactly what they were doing with this aggressive monetization and releasing a half baked beta multiplayer with a bunch of missing features at the launch.
It’s easy to say that when you aren’t a developer for 343. Everything 343 has said they were going to take care of so far in Infinite, they have or are currently working on. I’m not sure what more people could possibly want other than 2 updates a week, which is ludicrous, especially during the holiday season for most of the devs. More than likely they were being forced to release this game by a Reward Nominations due date so they could be considered for GOTY or other awards. So the devs didn’t decide to release a half-baked game, they released what they possibly could under strenuous circumstances.
Wow seems lower than I expected
That’s exactly the problem. It should have been released WHEN IT WAS READY instead of releasing whatever build they could.
People want Halo to be a great franchise again, not some mediocre compromise designed to catch whales.
So… don’t buy it?
I don’t understand why people are shouting about the prices of armors so much. The battle pass is $10 and it gives you plenty. If the other armor sets are too expensive, just don’t buy it. It’s not “predatory” pricing. They aren’t making you buy it, and buying it doesn’t make you better at the game.
Moreover, if your concern is the prices of these armors is too high, then not buying it sends a message to developers. They will lower the prices if nobody buys them. That said, more power to them. I wouldn’t pay $25 for armor, but if somebody else wants to, be my guest.
You are forgetting to realize that there is more to releasing a game than the developers pushing a button and saying it is released. It was a compromise because they were more than likely being forced to release the game in an ‘as-finished-as-possible’ state within a tight time frame. People seem to forget that developers are developers because they want to provide a good experience to players and share their art with the world. Do you really think that people want to put this game on their portfolio if everyone has labeled it as a cash grab? They don’t want to release it in this way. That is why they have dedicated to fixing as much as possible as quick as possible.
It’s here to stay cause whales can’t refuse to spend.
Not buying does nothing at all, for every 20 players who dont spend, 1 whale has made up all the money all those people would have spent in total.
They dont care about the 95% of players, they want that 5% of whales to buy everything in the shop every week and max out their battlepass.
The entire shop until the next season has over 1000$ worth of armour in it, maybe even higher mow since leak prices ended up higher when the actually hit stores.
We HAVE to be vocal about this, everyday, until it is addressed and made better.
People want to spend money and support this game, but we cant until they want to make a palatable experience for the whole 100% of players
More vocal the better
I wouldn’t call this an unfortunate shift in gaming history, it’s more of a goldrush that rewards the entire industry.
