I understand there are MKVII core cosmetics in the BP (most likely to make that core feel less sparse), and there are about 3 reach pieces that have no context, but a lot of the pouch chest pieces were used by the marine models so it makes sense.
Hazop was either worn selectively by the player or found randomly on the dead Spartans at the end of Lone Wolf.
My initial impression with the themed passes was: REACH BP - All armors from reach (prominent ones, at least) would be things to unlock. Just content to get whilst you lvl the pass.
Say Hazop wasn’t an armor from reach, I’d probably only be suspect of the $20 price tag. But I wouldn’t feel like it should be in the REACH battlepass. That’s what kinda grinds my gears.
((side note, todays shop, just looked at it on reddit. B R U H))
This is my first Halo as I’ve been a PC gamer, skipped the release of MCC cause I knew this was on it’s way-
I’ve just watched videos of the last halos and expected more than the bare minimum. Just feels like a slap to the face when you see stuff show up in the shop when season 1 ends in may and there’s not much to unlock to begin with, when there’s a full dang kit on the store for $20 FOR the armor core you get from purchasing the BP.
All excited to make a cool spartan and then get uh. Yeah.
most people could understand if it was $20 for all the armor pieces, attachments, and coatings associated to a single member of Noble Team (as well as Rosenda), or the Preserve and Condemned DLC armors combined with some new coatings. it would still be a gouge, but at least the reason is easier to justify since you’re either paying for the exact kit of a specific named NPC from Reach or what was always planned as paid DLC, not just a selection of starter armor that has everyone questioning what the heck is going on with 343.
the point that’s being made is that it makes no sense the way they’re doing the monetization and BP, like it’s based purely on stats that are horrendously skewed.
Lol. If surviving 3 months is a sign of good odds then there is no convincing someone of your naivete. 250k players to under 50k… 3 months out. Ok bud. The trend is down and we havent even seen a bottom yet.
Thats funny the steam numbers you’ve quoted and you think that’s the majority of the population of Infinite… and you call me naive? What a clown. Halo has been the most played game on the xbox ecosystem for 5 weeks in a row. Idc about Steam numbers
This is why I avoid the forums. Too many zombies on here
Wow, a free Xbox exclusive is popular on it’s exclusive platform? The point was a major demographic they were targeting and anticipating in their marketing completely flopped. Not to mention I don’t really care about Xbox’s “metrics” on their own game. Specially when they don’t even get numbers. No way to determine exactly how they consider something a “top game”. It’s failing on steam. Not even top 20 on Twitch. Anything with actual numbers shows a steep decline in anything Halo related. Keep your head in the sand. Have fun with your cores and coatings and 1/3rd baked game.
Halo is an Xbox game, always has been, always will be. If the game flopped on PC but maintains a healthy population on Xbox that is a win regardless. Besides the game is poorly optimized for PC, makes sense if people dropped the game in favour of playing on an Xbox or just dropped it altogether.
Top 20 on twitch? Isn’t Just Chatting one of the top viewed games on Twitch? I guess by that metric it should be a contender for GOTY. I assume you also think Halo Infinite should have a BR? Since that would bring more viewers on Twitch right? lmao
Thanks I’ll enjoy the game for what it’s worth. There are many issues with the game, but a stupid cosmetic is not one of them. I don’t play dress up with my spartan, not past the age of 12 at least
You assume wrong. BR is not original Halo. Customizing your spartan is. A landmark exclusive game having a “healthy” population is not a win. It’s meeting the bare minimum.
Play dress up with my Spartan
Oh you have never once customized your spartan? Let’s see a previous post of yours:
I bought the battlepass because of the mark 6 and flaming helmet, so I’ll be rocking that for a while
Lmao. Ok bud. You officially proven you will just lie and be bad faith to shill for Halo and 343.
Original Halo CE - 2 had no armor customization, just colours. Halo 3 had 8-10 full sets of armors, and colours. Halo Infinite has more armor customization options than those 3 games combined. I’m not including colours or emblems because those are not arbitrary. People tend to pick 1 colour or emblem and stick with it for the life cycle of the game.
You quoted my words but the context flew over your head. Of course (almost) everyone customizes their Spartans, and I did buy the battlepass just because of the 2 things I mentioned (for nostalgia reasons and to support 343). However the context of playing dress up with your spartan clearly isn’t something you understand so allow me to go more in depth. Playing dress up means constantly switching armors on personal needs and feeling for the day, deciding today is the day I will wear x, and tomorrow I will wear y, etc. That’s not an issue for me as I love my Mark 6 and will always wear that, no matter what new armors 343 brings to the table. I’ll still buy future battlepasses to support 343 but I’ll always be wearing my Mark 6.
Also I noticed you completely ignored my point about twitch viewership numbers, to be fair, you have no argument for.
Yes, And for that era and time changing colors was considered “Customizing”. Hardly any game at that time had more advanced customizations than that. Games were more restricted in capability vs time. However, it was still founded on being able to personalize your character. Which progressively got more advanced, as games tend to do. Halo Infinite is far more restrictive than 3, Reach, and MCC. It is a downgrade as far as player freedom goes, which is the spirit of customization. Having “more” doesn’t mean anything. Of course they have “more” customization options, because YOU HAVE A COATING INDIVIDUALLY FOR EVERY CORE, WEAPON, VEHICLE, ECT. You have cores that can’t mix and match armor. You have duplicated content across cores. Or meaningless variations like a different shade of blue or black. None of these things meaningfully depict degrees of customization.
Don’t try and back peddle now buddy. “A stupid cosmetic” is what you said. You referred to cosmetics in a singular tense, not in some plural sense to indicate some argument of “constant changing”. Don’t try and shoe horn yourself some petty argument. Even so, someone wanting to change their armor once a month, or week, season? How often is one allowed to change their armor before it is “dress up”? And where I have I shown that is even what I have implied in this conversation? You’re really grasping straws now, it’s obvious.
What do you even want me to say? You didn’t make much of an argument about Twitch. Twitch shows what people are interested in. Halo has rapidly declined to pathetic numbers. No one online is really interested. That’s the point. Halo has not expanded or recaptured much of it’s audience despite that being an obvious goal of theirs. It did momentarily and now is rapidly declining. If this were anything other than something you blindly defend, that would be obvious. Rapidly declining anything is not a good sign.
Okay we can agree on certain things. Locking colours to certain armor cores should’t be a thing and I don’t agree with the way they handled armor kits, limiting certain armours to a kit and not individually. However it’s still not as restrictive as you think. I spent $70 on this game (campaign and battle pass) and have more options to customize my spartan than Halo 1-3, and arguably Reach.
No back peddling here, you just gotta put your emotions to the side and try to think with some logic. They are stupid cosmetics, even the Mark 6 is just a stupid cosmetic. These things don’t change the game in any way, I find one that I like and I stick with that. Been that way for the entire series. Halo 3 I stuck with Hayabusa, Reach I stuck with Mark 6, 4 I stuck with Fotus, 5 I stuck with Mark 6. And just looking back, these are just stupid cosmetics that didn’t add or take away from my experience from the games. Halo 3 and Reach I had the most fun because of custom games. Halo 5, which had the largest customization pallet, would have been put in the trash can long time ago if I didn’t buy it digitally.
“Have fun with your cores and coatings and 1/3rd baked game.”
You had to criticize the game on something, so you mentioned cores and coatings, clearly this is the biggest issue for you. You didn’t mention anything about the netcode, phasing through enemies, inconsistent hit reg, real issues with the game. Look at this entire forum, only thing people complain about are cat ears and optional cosmetics, things that don’t change the game for what it is.
You can say I’m grasping at straws, but you’re not thinking logically. You’re letting your emotions get the best of you bud. Case in point:
I said this game has many issues, but stupid cosmetics are not one of them. What was your reply? I just shill the game for 343, completely unable to read my comment that the game has many issues.
Again I’ll just go back to my point that the game “Just Chatting” has 320k viewers on Twitch and Halo Infinite has 7k. So clearly Just chatting is the better game and is GOTY contender.
Think for a second, who are the majority audience on Twitch? They’re mostly kids. These kids are not interested in a “boomer shooter”, they’d rather watch FNAF or Fortnite. Does it mean these games are better than Infinite? It’s entirely objective to the individual. I don’t think Halo will ever recapture the glory days of Halo 3, because those days are long gone.

Where is the “logic” here? All you are doing is expressing your opinion as “logical” when it has nothing to do with “logic”. You don’t find cosmetics add to your experience. Good for you. That is not the case for most social players. If they don’t add or take anything, why even have them? They are a waste of time that could go towards gameplay. So the only “logical” thing your argument proposes is that 343i do away entirely with cosmetics. Other than its now new found purpose of generating revenue, you are conceding that all other Halos should have had NO customization at all.

You keep saying “logically, logically” but this has nothing to do with anything. You think it is making your argument have more legitimacy when it doesn’t. This is a clash of opinions. Nothing to do with “logic”. Here is the difference between those problems since it seems to go over your head: Netcode, hit reg, and other issues are things people like me naturally assume 343i didn’t intentionally do. Obviously if they have slow servers it’s not because THEY WANT slow servers. The issues with cosmetics is this is something THEY WANT. This is intentional. These problems exist because of them trying to create a multi-layered paywall.
Yes you shill. I concluded that precisely by reading your comment. So how you think I was unable to is beyond me. This entire post is about issues with cosmetics and you come in with a “OH well other things”. If you want to talk about other things, go make a thread.
If you just put your emotions to the side you would know what I’m talking about. When you take quotes that I have said and input your emotions into them, you misquote my context and destroy the argument at hand.
If you actually read my posts above you would not have come to that conclusion. Let’s reel it back for a second. Your first reply to me was this game will die in 3 months, and the only reason you have given me was because of cosmetics. I’m not sure where you got the impression that most social players enjoy the cosmetics, I would say it’s the complete opposite. Do I think cosmetics should be in Halo games, sure. Are they going to determine my will to keep playing the game? no. Population dropping has absolutely nothing to do with cosmetics, and if you have ever played Infinite you would know why people are leaving. Poor PC optimization, lack of content, etc. Even though the game is barebones it still holds a healthy population in the xbox ecosystem, which was my main point. Idc about Steam.
And these are the real issues why people are dropping the game. Not over cosmetics, which was your original point.
Good thinking there. Are you telling me 343 are trying to make as much money as possible with this game? I honestly didn’t even realize that was the case. However if more revenue brought to the game means more content, constant updates, etc then I’m all happy. Goodbye optional cosmetics.
I honestly tried my best to decipher this pig latin here.
I think you said I shill for this game, even though clearly said this game has many glaring issues that need to be fixed asap.
The original point was you said this game would die in 3 months, and you have not given me a reason why other than optional cosmetics.
And I do see threads talking about other issues. If you scroll down a couple pages, through the cat ears and monetization threads, you can find some talking about gameplay issues.
Honestly we can’t have any kind of discussion here if you are going to argue in this bad faith and straight lying. It will be obvious to anyone reading these posts. That’s enough for me to move on.
Sure bud, hope that helps you sleep at night. See you in 3 months when the population remains the same. I’m sure you’ll still be here posting new timelines for the games downfall.
Enjoy coming on threads and bashing the game, providing nothing of value, instead of moving on like a normal person. The community can do far better with less toxic zombies clogging up the forums
